Steward requests/Global permissions

This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Eihel

Hello, I am part of SWMT since about six months. GR would be a useful tool for continuing the fight. I hope this application will be appreciated with my pedigree. Best regards. --Eihel (talk) 16:38, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Bugtrio

As a user from Turkey, I have to use a VPN service in order to access Wikipedia and since most of the IPs from the VPNs are blocked, I cannot contribute anymore even when I want to. Please consider providing me with a GIPBE, thanks, --Bugtrio (talk) 14:50, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Done.--HakanIST (talk) 20:50, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Bxxiaolin

As English wikipedia also blocked by GFW in China, I have to use VPN to access Wikipedia. But I can't edit any article in English Wikipedia. So, I need a global exemption. Thanks! --Bxxiaolin (talk) 12:18, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for 丁子君

I live in PRC for a long period of time every year. During this time I would not be able to edit or even access Wikipedia without using VPN as Wikipedia is blocked in PRC, thus I need a global IPBE in order to contribute in projects other than zhwp and lzhwp. Thanks! --丁子君 (talk) 00:59, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An enwp IBPE maybe needed. Thanks all.--Cohaf (talk) 13:30, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for JJBullet

Novak Watchmen, out of curiosity, have you ever opposed a request? Vermont (talk) 15:52, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Novak Watchmen: Do you realise just how problematic this can be? Hiàn (talk)/editing on mobile account 13:40, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm asking to be a renamer ~~ JJBullet 08:12, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose assuming they're asking for the right and not a rename itself. a little over 500 edits isn't sufficient for even basic rights on most projects let alone something as sensitive as a global renaming right. Praxidicae (talk) 20:10, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose regardless of why they're applying, they have less than 600 global edits. I'm assuming this is meant for SRUC, but opposing for the record. TonyBallioni (talk) 20:13, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose per above. Concerns with limited experience. -FASTILY 02:06, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose Insufficient experience. –Ammarpad (talk) 08:19, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose, per this users answer to me, thank you for volunteering, but you don't have the related experience for this role, (Special:diff/19055842#Global_rename_for_JJBullet) is example of carelessness, requester for advanced rights should know to not place request on the incorrect section, I expect a renamer to be a careful person/user, there are also concern about your Special:CentralAuth/JJBullet other kind of inexperience, 592 editcount and 570 of them only from one single wiki show us that you are too new to understand many policy on each local wikis, especially for renaming. Once again, thank you for volunteering but we want a competent and experienced user for the role.--AldnonymousBicara? 08:25, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose No replies to my question and lack of experience and demonstrated need. Thanks for volunteering though. I will advise very strongly not to apply for any further rights as you asked in English Wikipedia AWB, EVC, ACC, Rollbacker, MMS all within a very short period of time and this high concentration to user space makes me wonder what's your take on contributing to Wikipedia? Write more articles, help to improve some articles or if you wish, try to counter some vandals, make accurate VIP reports. Be back in 1 year and I'm sure you will be a good candidate to being a Global Renamer. Thanks again--Cohaf (talk) 09:04, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose. Absolutely not. 500 edits isn't remotely close to what is an acceptable edit count - furthermore your edit distribution on enwiki isn't indicative of someone who is experienced with editing. Cohaf also raises several good points. Come back after gaining more experience. Hiàn (talk)/editing on mobile account 13:38, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Per above concerns. Also, where is the reason of this request? --Stïnger (会話) 14:28, 30 April 2019 (UTC).[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose No rationale for request, no experience in the renaming area. IMO this should be SNOW close. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 14:42, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not done - early closure after initial comments. If you are requesting a rename, please visit SRUC and we would be happy to help there. Otherwise, please get some more experience across Wikimedia before applying for these rights again. – Ajraddatz (talk) 15:06, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
