Steward requests/Global permissions

This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Requests for global sysop permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global sysops policy.

Global rename for شيماء

Not ending before 8 July 2021 08:28 UTC

Hello, I am an editor and administrator in the Arabic Wikipedia. Arabic Wikipedia suffers from a lack in global renamers, and currently we have 4 renamers and one of them is not active. I think that I will be able to help in this field, for I am interested in it, available on a daily basis, and active in the encyclopedia (my focus will only be on changing names in Arabic Wikipedia). I also read International Global Renamers Policy, and read about Official Permission Page. Regards.--شيماء (talk) 08:28, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for LanmeiCN

I am from China, and all Wikimedia Foundation sites are blocked in my area, so I need to use a proxy to change an IP that can access the Wikimedia Foundation site, but the IP I changed is already on the Wikimedia Foundation site Banned in. I need to edit more Wikipedias besides Chinese Wikipedia, and I have asked in the official telegram group of Chinese Wikipedia that my IP is globally banned. I have read "Global IP block exemption" in detail. Please grant me it, thanks, --LanmeiCN (talk) 11:03, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Comment This is not meant to be an oppose, but the fact this user requests several global rights at once gives me a pause. It reminds me of an essay I read in the past. Martin Urbanec (talk) 11:23, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Comment Hello, Martin Urbanec, due to blocking the use of the proxy, I finally found an IP that was not blocked by the Wikimedia Foundation at random, so I had to apply for it together. -LanmeiCN (talk) 13:14, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for LaceyUF

I have no internet access on my laptop except through my wireless phone, which earlier this month I installed legally-questionable firmware which compels me to hide all network traffic that passes through my phone to my computer (i.e. a VPN service, which is similar to open proxy). I have a 3-year flawless record on the English Wikipedia and I'm requesting a block exception in good faith so that I can continue editing English wikipedia and English wiktionary and maybe upload images to commons. I will happily provide more details if requested. Note: This message was sent to me via an external source by User:LaceyUF (talk), and they have asked me to submit this request on behalf of them. I am signing with my own signature. EpicPupper (talk) 05:01, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For what it's worth, I have also interacted with this user who seems very motivated to get back to editing. Please approve ASAP. —Justin (koavf)TCM 17:41, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for 北纬的星空

I am a Wikipedia user from Chinese mainland. I have to go to Wikipedia through proxy now, but my proxy is banned and can not edit Wikipedia page. Today I found that I could access there by changing Hosts file (though not very often). Therefore, I hope the administrator can grant me global IP block exemption to avoid being affected. My user name is 北纬的星空. My current IP address is 101.88.124.123, thanks, --101.88.124.123 11:42, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please login to confirm the request. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 23:13, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK. (It seems to be unstable) --北纬的星空 (talk) 04:01, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

abusefilter-helper for 1234qwer1234qwer4

Since I became an administrator here on Meta about two months ago, I found myself increasingly working with both local and global abuse filters, monitoring and editing/creating them. Having abusefilter-helper would allow me to view global (and, likely, related local) filter details from other wikis as well as help with filter issues on smaller wikis, such as this case on nawiki (with a public filter). I do admit that when creating filters, I sometimes forget to mark them as private and only notice this a couple minutes later, but I am trying to remember this, and since AFH only allows for viewing filters, it should not be a problem for this role. ~~~~
