This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.

Instructions for making a request

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.

 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global IP block exempt for Alhassan Mohammed Awal

<Hi, I'm from Ghana and an active contributor. I just got this meesage "Your IP address has been blocked on all wikis" which makes it impossible for me to edit again. kindly assist to unblock me because My IP is not an open proxy but the block seem to affect me.>, thanks, --Alhassan Mohammed Awal (talk) 18:48, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Alhassan Mohammed Awal, can you share details about the block please? If you wish, you can share it privately via stewards@wikimedia.org – in that case, please leave the ticket number here (it will arrive in an automated reply), so we can connect the two requests together. Thanks, Martin Urbanec (talk) 22:15, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 154.160.5.237. As mentioned before, I am from Ghana and use mobile internet, but time to time, IP provided by mobile network shifts and I get caught in open proxy. It's frustrating because when one gets blocked, you need wait for some period before one is able to edit again. You can imagine how that can kill ones passion of editing on wikipedia. If you could kindly grant me global IP block exemption on all wikis. Alhassan Mohammed Awal (talk) 02:59, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Machatjkala

Hi, I'm a long time contributor using a proxy for Internet. For som reason the proxy has been blocked for registered users but I would like to continue edit. thanks, --Machatjkala (talk) 13:24, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Machatjkala, can you share some details about why do you need to use a proxy (and which kind of a proxy that is)? Please note you can always bypass that block by turning the proxy off. Best, Martin Urbanec (talk) 14:33, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I use OVPN as proxy do avoid being tracked by sites on the Internet. I can't see why this should be prohibited by Wikipedia. Even if it'a a proxy, registered accounts could be allowed (and blocked individually in case of abuse). Turning the proxy off for Wikipedia isn't an option. I usually collect sources on Internet when writing my articles so there is no situation when I only browse Wikipedia./Machatjkala (talk) 10:46, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Mehman97

If you wish, I can send you an IP address for check. Thanks, --Mehman 97 15:01, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done resolved the issue with Mehman97 privately. --Base (talk) 15:26, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Abuse filter helper for Daniuu (extension)

Not ending before 27 January 2022 17:25 UTC

Some six months ago, I requested the global abuse filter permission to assist with the handling of the anti-spam abuse filters and to further assist vandalism. The permission was then granted for six months. As the permission was granted for six months about six months ago, I would like to request an extension of this permission. While holding the permission, I assisted in the patrolling of the anti-spam filters, used the abuse log entries to frustrate LTAs and developed some new filters on the Dutch Wikipedia to better fight spam (especially the shopping and gambling ones) and would like to continue this work in the future. I am, as always, looking forward to receiving your feedback on this request. --Daniuu (talk) 17:24, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Clear consensus. RadiX 18:32, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
