What future IdeaLab campaigns would you like to see?[edit]

Hi there,

I’m Jethro, and I’m seeking your help in deciding topics for new IdeaLab campaigns that could be run starting next year. These campaigns aim to bring in proposals and solutions from communities that address a need or problem in Wikimedia projects. I'm interested in hearing your preferences and ideas for campaign topics!

Here’s how to participate:

Take care,

I JethroBT (WMF), Community Resources, Wikimedia Foundation. 03:33, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Future IdeaLab Campaigns results[edit]

Last December, I invited you to help determine future ideaLab campaigns by submitting and voting on different possible topics. I'm happy to announce the results of your participation, and encourage you to review them and our next steps for implementing those campaigns this year. Thank you to everyone who volunteered time to participate and submit ideas.

Inspire Campaign on content curation & review[edit]

I've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.

All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:39, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Open Call for Individual Engagement Grants[edit]

Greetings! The Individual Engagement Grants (IEG) program is accepting proposals until April 12th to fund new tools, research, outreach efforts, and other experiments that enhance the work of Wikimedia volunteers. Whether you need a small or large amount of funds (up to $30,000 USD), IEGs can support you and your team’s project development time in addition to project expenses such as materials, travel, and rental space.

Thanks for your participation in IdeaLab during the Inspire Campaign focused on improving content curation & review processes from February to March 2016. I'm interested in hearing your feedback about your participation during campaign, so if you're able, I invite you to complete this brief survey to describe how you contributed to the campaign and how you felt about participating.

Immediate results of the campaign can be found here. Please feel free to review them and let me know if you have any questions about the campaign or the survey. Thanks! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 02:32, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

(Opt-out instructions)

Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.

Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,

The Community Wishlist Survey[edit]

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:25, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

GLAMpipe[edit]

Dear, I just saw your presentation on GLAMpipe during last year's Wikidatacon. However, I cannot find the tool anymore on tools.wmflabs.org. Could you please briefly update me on the state of affairs of this project? I would be interested in finding out whether it is a more stable and user-friendly piece of software than Pattypan for batch uploads to Wikimedia Commons with integrated metadata. Outreach Dashboard for the WikiForHumanRights event[edit]

Hey Susanna! Thank you for running an event for #WikiForHumanRights. I was wondering if you were able to create a Programs and Events dashboard event, so that we can roll the data up into the camapign? Cheers, Astinson (WMF) (talk) 19:00, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! We decided early on that we will stay anonymous, as the kids are minor, and we would have needed the consent of their parents to make accounts. We did not produce much data anyway, instead we managed to raise the attention of the school and the families. I hope the event will be useful for you in this way as well! Cheers, 19:14, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your support![edit]

Hello, Susannaanas:

We wanted to THANK YOU for expressing your support in our grant application to develop Web2Cit: Visual Editor for Citoid Web Translators and for volunteering to take part in the project. We have great news to share: our proposal has been approved!

In the following weeks, we will be processing some paperwork and refining our next steps for this project. We aim to give updates so you can follow the development of the project and you can understand when and how you can contribute!

But for now, we wanted to thank you and invite you to celebrate with us!

Both Diegodlh and myself are very thankful for your support. --Scann (talk) 12:40, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Call for Advisory Board members for Web2Cit[edit]

Hello, Susannaanas:

Web2Cit: Visual Editor for Citoid Web Translators project is moving!

With Diegodlh we are inviting people to apply to be an Advisory Board member. Is this you? Is this someone you know?

Check the Call for members and apply to be an Advisory Board member before August 6th!

If you are too busy this time around to apply, don't worry: we get it. You can also help us by spreading the word! We sincerely appreciate it. --Scann (talk) 22:34, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Susanna!

My name is Seve, and I am a Product Manager at the Wikimedia Foundation. I am reaching out to GLAM users as part of an upcoming research study I am conducting.

I would like to request an hour to interview you for whatever time works best for you. Let me emphasize that I don't wish or intend to interfere with your day or waste your time.

If you want to learn more details about participating in this study, I'd be happy to give you a call and explain more.

Wiki Loves Living Heritage[edit]

Hello Sussanna

I came across the Wiki Loves Living Heritage page and it's an amazing work you're doing and I would love to be a part of it by volunteering in the Wikidata & Wikimedia Commons support team.

I also saw some open positions, and although they are not open yet, I'll love to indicate my interest in the Ethical sharing Cordinator's Position

Hi Olubusola and thanks for contacting! I will make note of your interest. We are still in the process of finding funding for the tasks, and the calls can only open after that. I hope to get back to you soon!

We need your feedback on a tool from the Wikimedia Summit[edit]

Reminder: the guide to using Baserow, presented during the Wikimedia Summit.

Hi! I'm contacting you as one of the participants in the Wikimedia Summit 2022, to kindly ask for your feedback through a 5-10 minute survey to evaluate 'Baserow' (note: the survey is on a Google form).

Baserow was a tool through which participants in the Summit co-created a database of Movement Strategy activities. We hope to learn from you how useful it may be to keep using it in the future to help document and connect on Movement Strategy work.

You are welcome and encouraged to fill out the survey in any language. Your feedback would be very appreciated --Abbad (WMF) (talk) 14:26, 16 February 2023 (UTC).[reply]

Redirection with content[edit]

Dear Susannaanas,

Please have a look at that discussion: you’ve created a strange redirection, I would like your feedback before removing page content. -- Pols12 (talk) 18:42, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Susannaanas, will Wiki Loves Living Heritage/Intangible Cultural Heritage of Germany be updated automatically, if the items on wikidata are updated with the claim d:Q19276012? Best regards Christoph Jackel (WMDE) 13:00, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

They should be but sometimes they are not. In that case you can make sure by updating manually by clicking on the Manually update list link. Most elements are also listed on the page Wiki Loves Living Heritage/German Nationwide Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage, checking that every now and then would also make sense. Thanks for your work! – Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) 🦜 14:05, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Living Heritage/Armenia[edit]

Dear Susannaanas, Armenian Wikipedia has joined the Wiki Loves Living Heritage project since August 1st. I created the page of National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Armenia. There are the pages of intangible cultural heritage values on Wikidata, but bot doesn't add Armenia to the the Wiki Loves Living Heritage/Inventories page, is it possible to do that?--Beko (talk) 07:48, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Beko, I am really happy to hear that!
Let me have a look what might be missing. I hope I will not overwrite any of the work you have done. I will get back to you in a moment! We can add a news item about it on the main page and make a social media post as well. – Susanna Ånäs (Susannaanas) 🦜 09:22, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
