SUL finalization

If you are requesting a merge of a global account with one or more unconnected local accounts as part of finalizing your single unified login (SUL) username, please specify which wikis and accounts you want to merge into your global account. These accounts were typically named "account name~wikiname". Please note that we can only merge a local account into a global account when the global account has no edits on the same wiki as the local account.

How to add an entry here

To add an entry, please copy and paste the text below into the appropriate section.

=== Oldname ===
{{SRUC
|status = <!--don't change this line-->
|domain = global
|Oldname =
|Newname =
|reason = (your remarks here)
--~~~~
}}

Example

For global rename requests:

=== Example ===
{{SRUC
|status     = <!--don't change this line-->
|domain     = global
|Oldname    = Example
|Newname    = Foo
|reason     = your remarks here
--~~~~
}}

Making a request for your own account

For changing your username on one wiki:

Please include the following information in your request:

  • the old username,
  • the new username,
  • please sign ~~~~ request with your account for a simple move (first section), or sign this request with both the originating and the target accounts if you are requesting a merge (second section).

If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information. This helps ensure that you are requesting a rename for your own account. Please check before posting your request that the username you want is available. You can test that by going to the (new) user page and looking into the sidebar. If there is a link to user contributions, the account already exists, or check via Special:CentralAuth.

Private requests

Account renames are not private, once renamed many links from the old username to the new username will be permanently made. The reason submitted on the rename form (Special:GlobalRenameRequest) is private, and only visible by the renamers. Additional information that needs to be made in private may be sent using this direct wiki-email interface while logged-in.

Requests

Please add new requests at the end of the page. Sections should be titled your username@project name or your username@multiple projects please.

Collaborateur Luc Belot@global

There are some unattached accounts (Sulutil:CLB). Please ask them to choose another name--Shanmugamp7 (talk) 17:38, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Only two of them have ever contributed, on en.wikivoyage.org and on nl.wp. Is it really necessary ? If so, I'll transmit your request for more suitable login. Regards, Esprit Fugace (talk) 17:41, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
All of those accounts should be usurped then only we can globally rename. As of now you have to request individual project crats for usurpations, so it is better to choose another name--Shanmugamp7 (talk) 17:46, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) It's technically impossible to rename to an already taken account. Anyway, we could move these local accounts to another name so that Collaborateur Luc Belot can take CLB. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 17:47, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

분당선M@global

I am confirm that 분당선M is my account please continue the rename process,--DangSunM (talk) 12:21, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
We can't merge accounts. Do you want DangSunM to be renamed to something else first? --MF-W 12:45, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
At least not yet. Hopefully, we can merge accounts in a few weeks. Otherwise, what MF said. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 13:40, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Afaik, we will be able to attach local accounts to a global account then, but still not merge two (global) accounts in the way that is possible with mw:Extension:UserMerge. --MF-W 14:27, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If nececcery, you can rename DangSunM to someting else. Or if it will being easier if i request few weeks after, I may need to requst again later I guess.--DangSunM (talk) 23:31, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you see... either you wait or get DangSunM renamed to something else now. From the viewpoint of stewards, it doesn't matter at all; the work needed is just some clicks anyway. --MF-W 15:05, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, this tool will merge global accounts. After SUL finalisation, all accounts will be global ones anyway. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 11:03, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@분당선M: please confirm what you would like to happen, or we can close this as "withdrawn"  — billinghurst sDrewth 06:06, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to answer lately. I recently saw that my kowiki account was renamed. So i have to do the rename so please go ahead to rename as many wiki as you can. I thñk you can still use old way. Thanks.-- DangSunM (talk) 11:21, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats for getting your account even more screwed up. --MF-W 12:28, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Www.storyal.de@global

Not done There is no global account named Www.storyal.de. Ruslik (talk) 10:57, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Jborme@global

Hi, indeed please visit Special:Mergeaccount first. Currently you have no global account; you can create one there, then once you have it, renaming you on all projects is much easier. --MF-W 19:32, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Should I visit Special:Mergeaccount for both accounts? I have local accounts at many wikis, with both names (never both names on the same wiki). Jérôme (talk) 19:38, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So you own all of these accounts: [2] & [3]? --MF-W 19:42, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I was correcting interwikis links at a time. I just spent one hour making sure they are all associated to the same e-mail address and all use the same password (I think this is a criterion to unify). Jérôme (talk) 19:46, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see. It is indeed best if password & e-mail are the same (though unifying is also possible if only one of them matches).
Your case is a bit complicated because you already have 30 accounts at the desired username, but the 11 accounts at the other username have made much more edits. And unfortunately there isn't a tool to merge accounts with different names yet (even though that is planned for an unknown time in the future). I'd recommend you to do the following:
  1. Unify Cæruleum. Whether you unify Jborme is a matter of choice, since that account is going to be gone anyway in the end. However if you unify it too, you have the advantage that it is immediately clear that you own all of the accounts who are still named Jborme.
  2. Request local renames of the Jborme accounts to Cæruleum on the 11 wikis where you edited with Jborme. You have to make 11 separate requests, but you can wait with some or all until 15 September, for when it is announced that bureaucrats will lose the right to rename, and then a steward can fulfill all the renames. [You can however be sure that a request to the bureaucrats on some wikis will be fulfilled very quickly, far before 15 September. E.g. on enwiki and meta, and probably frwiki as well]. --MF-W 20:04, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SMAUG@global

Holding this until 15 Sept when I will be able (by policy) to manually fix the individual project conflicts. Ajraddatz (talk) 16:05, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, although I'm not sure if the wait is needed here, since there are no individual project conflicts that need to be fixed when you rename "SMAUG" to "SMAUG (vanha)". And after that there is no SUL account matching the name "SMAUG" (correct me if I'm wrong), so the ElmA → SMAUG rename will be possible. I know that by the end of this process there will be 18 commonswiki edits and 2 metawiki edits which will belong to the "SMAUG (vanha)", but that's not a problem by this user. –Ejs-80 17:34, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As the user wants it as well, I have done this. --MF-W 14:47, 1 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

烈之斩@global

This would require local usurpations, unfortunately, because you have made edits under your new account (even if that account is yours). --Rschen7754 01:13, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Afaics, Fireattack wants to be renamed to some random name so that 烈之斩 can be renamed to Fireattack. I don't see anything that should prevent us from doing this. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 10:21, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bdigital on several projects

@Bdigital: That would leave your account broken across wikis and not universally aligned, as we can only move some accounts, and there is no guarantee that you will get account name during the remaining globalisation processes. I would suggest that you find an empty username, and move to it.  — billinghurst sDrewth 09:42, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: Just enwiki and nlwiki are ok for me since that's the place I'm active. And I guess I can claim the global account since I'm the only active user (on more than 1 project) [9] Bdigital (talk) 11:50, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Bdigital: the allocation of the universal account is a bit of black magic from what I understand, and won't necessarily go to you, which is why I give the warning. I still feel that choosing an alternate user name is the better way forward, not trying to squeeze into an already used name, when others are already using that name in various forms.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:47, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: I understand your considerations and I'm willing to take that risk because I really prefer the bwb username. The other option is to create a bwb account on both nlwiki and enwiki (without a rename), but I prefer a rename above extra accounts Bdigital (talk) 13:02, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ccifjtoyo@global

They request a rename from CcifjToyo although Ccifjtoyo is his current username. Is the change to a camel-case name intended? Additionally, they could have registered a new name as their first edit was the rename request. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 08:58, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm pretty confident the camel-case is intended, but I'll ask just to make sure (wouldn't want another request in two days...). They could have register a new name, but now they have 4 edits in main, and I think it would bother them to see it misspelled in the history of the article. Esprit Fugace (talk) 09:36, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
