This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.

I was once a global sysop for a while but resigned due to lack of availability. Now, I return and request the tools again because they are very useful in my work here. I am an active administrator on the zhwiki. Acording to zhwiki Username policy, Misleading usernames, Disruptive or offensive usernames and Promotional names will be blocked, but they may change their usernames, then administrator can unblock the user. However there are no active users have global rename flag on the zhwiki, and some new users don’t know how to come here to request for rename. I'm very sorry to parallel this request, which is somewhat nonsense and inappropriate at this time, with another request from my wonderful colleague here. And I know it's only around 2 weeks since my GRo. But, honestly, I should have posted my application days ago, but I saw active Sotiale on our rename request page, hence the postponement. However, I think I need stand out and request to help local rename request, as well as for cross-wiki. I have comprehended the policys above and I consider I can handle the permission. 2FA Tester for N219

Status:    Done

I read at the rfc on expanding 2FA opt-in that this right can be granted globally now by the stewards, and I'd like to enable it. I have read Help:Two-factor authentication, understand, and have the requisite personal devices.
