This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag
To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
|status = <!-- don't change this line -->
|domain = global <!-- don't change this line -->
|user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
Hello everyone! I'd like to apply for GR. I'm administrator of Wikidata, and my global field of work is mostly removing spam connected to Commons and Wikidata. Unfortunately, I'm often stopped by CAPTCHA and AbuseFilter; I remember, once I even had to ask someone else to mark a page for deletion because I couldn't add the template myself. I was advised in the past to apply till I'm willing to continue what I do, so here I am. The right would be very useful for me in general, especially when my edits get undid by spammers. I've read the guidelines and am happy to serve if you find me appropriate. Thanks for reading! Bencemac (talk) 16:57, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Support, user has some global contributions, if he needs the perissions to continue his work, I support him. Cheers! Nadzik (talk) 17:07, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Support Bencemac has important permissions like admin in many wikis. I have witnessed several times that it is working globally to prevent vandalism and spam. Having this authority will facilitate its work. Thanks for your contributions. Good luck. --Uncitoyentalk17:44, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You can always improve yourself, and I believe I did that. Working with others also needs the others' cooperation, but some people just want to see the devil in me, no matter what I try or do, so I don't think that this lack is just my fault all the time. I believe that you, who see me in the field, can judge me and decide if these concerns are truly real or not. I'm surely have the intention to work with others, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I hope I answered your question. Regards, Bencemac (talk) 17:53, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Support I feel we are here for Global rollback for this candidate. G-Rollback is to fight x-wiki Vandals. I support this candidate for this user rights, when it comes to stew. election or G-sysop then I think Rschen7754 concerns could be considerable. Best wishes ahead. --Tiven2240 (talk) 02:18, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am requesting this right to be able to fastly revert any vandalism or anything disruptive, and especially on wikipedia. I am still relatively new here and I wonder if I can have this right. I have made about 400 edits in total at all WikiMedia wikis, and 350 on Wikipedia. I am also active on Commons and Meta.ThesenatorO5-2 (talk) 09:27, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(non-steward closure) Not done There is totally no consensus here and there cannot be no consensus for appoint. No x-wiki activity. See also user's talk page on enwiki.--MrJaroslavik (talk) 11:51, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential. Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
Note that I have requested a username change to --NullPointer--
I am requesting this permission mainly to fight vandalism and to help people whose username has problems to change them.
I have apporximately 300 edits totally on all WikiMedia wikis.

Strong oppose! Global rename is not a tool to fight against vandalism. You would do much better if you first got some experience and then maybe apply for local rollback permissions. For now [1]. Cheers! Nadzik (talk) 07:14, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. My main wiki is Turkish Wikipedia. I worked as an administrator on most Turkish wiki projects. I have been an OTRS volunteer for 5 years. I've blocked many inappropriate usernames in my own wiki since years. Sometimes there are requests to change names on Turkish OTRS. I naturally explain these e-mails in detail and direct them to global renamers. But when I check these users later, I see that many of them couldn't request a name change. Because most of them don't speak English, they admit that they didn't fulfill these requests correctly. I have read the global policy several times. I think this permission will be easy for users who have problems in Turkish wikis. Thanks. Also: My statistics on this Turkish Wikipedia.--Uncitoyentalk13:17, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Support user already has advanced permissions. It isn't spread amongst many wikis but user has several wikis with several hundred edits. Uncitoyen is already a global rollbacker, I think he can be trusted. Cheers! Nadzik (talk) 15:41, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

The request will be approved if there is demonstrated need for the permission, such as bypassing a global block from someone who is not the intended target.
You got me there @DannyS712:. I am an LTA SPA. My purpose is to strengthen the wikis by pointing out the flaws. I have made at least fifty accounts in the past couple of months and probably 6,000 vandal edits on Commons. Yet nobody wants to throttle the ability of a newbie or an IP to do so much damage. It’s almost as though the sysops enjoy cleaning up after me. Aesopmerit (talk) 23:43, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That makes it easy - indeffed (was already indeffed on commons for vandalism). Report to SRG - suggest a lock rather than granting rights --DannyS712 (talk) 23:46, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion: The user reported here that he got caught by a global IP block, namely 2001:4BB8:0:0:0:0:0:0/39. He is using mobile access to the site. He said that he has trouble with requests on english, so I'm requesting it for him. Regards, Luke08151516:43, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
