This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
Hello all! I would like request for global rollback permission. I'm a member of SWMT and I'm using TwinkleGlobal and SWViewer. I have rollback rights in five projects (including one sysop). I made my first request a year ago and was asked to come here after 2-3 months. I have made a lot of xwiki edits since then. GR will help a lot with combating xwiki vandalism. Thanks —Yahya (talk • contribs.) 09:29, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CommentBy this post, I do not want to offend anyone, especially not the goodwill. I just want an explanation. Is this something I missed from the above support votes by esteemed contributors? For example, this recent modification seems problematic. Is it a modification in the midst of a lot of good modifications? Yet, since the last application, it seems to me that there are mostly file renames from Commons, file additions for the WPWP 2021 contest, etc. I will probably reconcile my opinion with those of the last application (@1997kB and Camouflaged Mirage:), because I wonder about his patrol. Can we give the gr? Warmest regards. —Eihel (talk) 18:56, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Eihel: I believe it wasn't vandalism. I did not do it on purpose. Maybe it's a problem with misclick or tools. I will be more careful about this in the future. Since I have rollback rights to several wikis, I know which edits should be reverted and which should not. Sorry about that.—Yahya (talk • contribs.) 19:49, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Please be a little careful in the cases like above as SWViewer just displays the recent difference. Otherwise, no concerns.-BRP ever08:57, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted the first two a year ago. At that time I did some wrong revert. And that is why my first request was not accepted. Since then I have tried to improve myself. The third diff is not vandalism. Seeing the email address in the edit, I probably thought it was vandalism. I will be more careful in future.—Yahya (talk • contribs.) 21:19, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that first two edits were made quite long time ago but the recent one surely wasn't vandalism, it's perfect that you understand that but, yes, please, be careful next time with languages you do not understand. Thats Weak support from me.--Renvoy (talk) 10:15, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all, I’m Daniuu. I am a global rollbacker since the end of April and a sysop on the Dutch Wikipedia. I am active in the fight against cross-wiki abuse, against LTA’s and against various sorts of spam. For this, I am mainly using the abuse filters and SWViewer. In this capacity, I have also filed frequent requests at GSR. I would like to request GS permissions to be able to deal more effectively with this spam and vandalism, for example to intervene in situations warranting deletions/blocks/protections. Next to this, I’d also like to assist with handling requests at the GSR request page. I am familiar with the GS policy and thus know when the tools could be applied and they should not be used. In case I’d not be sure how to handle a certain situation, I’d obviously discuss such situations with colleagues. This being said, I’d like to conclude this application. I am looking forward to hearing your opinions and feedback on this application. Thanks! --Daniuu (talk) 00:51, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support Already has experience with the tools at nlwiki, and is active in the area where the tools are required. No concern.-BRP ever00:56, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support, active, trusted and experienced user with a valid need for the tools; they would be a positive addition to the mop-wielding crew. Sgd. —Hasley01:43, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Daniuu has only been a part of the community for about 2 years and is a sysop on nl-wiki for approximately 1 year. And although he has made tremendous progress, he still makes some rookie mistakes by misinterpreting situations or forgetting to assume good faith. As a nl-wikicrat I would recommend Daniuu to wait for another year, to gain more experience. Gathering several advanced permissions without mastering the roles you already have only leads to misfortune. Natuur12 (talk) 17:30, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose I have good impressions about Daniuu, but they recently entered in an unnecessary rollback-war with a vandal that gives to me some concerns about their ability to judge when use and when not use the tools we have, specially when we don't understand the local procedures/habits for hundreds of projects under GS scope. Sorry, I'm very happy to support you in the future, but I don't feel comfortable now. stanglavine msg19:13, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I do remember what situation you're referring to. It was an incident involving an LTA posting libel on a steward's talk page on ukwikibooks (if not, please correct me). From what I can see, this was one of the involved pages in that incident (it looks like the other edits were deleted). This was indeed a misjudgement from my side, for which I apologized after the incident. The lesson to be drawn from this mistake is that it is under certain circumstances better to wait until the LTA activity dropped (and in the meantime consider whether to check whether a steward would be available to assist with their toolset if required - especially if they keep reincarnating to put it like that). Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

The request will be approved if there is demonstrated need for the permission, such as bypassing a global block from someone who is not the intended target.
Hello everybody. I am a Chinese student living in Australia. I haven't been able to edit lately because of many blocked IP blocks. Therefore, I would like everyone to exempt me from IP. I need to always mask my IP address for reasons of my personal security and privacy. However, I am unable to make contributions to Wikimedia projects when I am logged in and accessing the Internet via an IP that happens to be blocked. I would greatly appreciate it if I were granted an exemption, so that I may continue to contribute to Wikimedia projects. I do not have any other account on Wikimedia projects. I am just an ordinary editor on Wikimedia Commons, but recently, I tagged images of people who had personality rights, then I uploaded old images like logos, Because I cannot edit within this globally blocked IPv6 address. Thanks, --Refactor Factotum (talk) 03:03, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Refactor Factotum, why is your IPv6 address blocked please? Can you share the block message? If you wish, you can email us at stewardswikimedia.org (as soon as you receive the automated response with ticket number, paste it here, and someone'll follow-up).
