This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request

|user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
Hello, I have been active as a member of SWMT and a cross-wiki patroller. Having global rollback rights would be quite useful and convenient, especially when dealing with vandals / spammers who disrupt multiple wikis and their edits have to be individually reverted. In some cases, being able to use mass-rollback at any wiki for reverting a bunch of edits at one click would also be handy. Kindly let me know if there are any concerns! Thanks. (P.S. have been suggested to consider this at two instances.) --Svartava (talk) 14:15, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted that edit since it changed the blue link already present to a two separate red links. Moreover, I could not find clear information on the web for that and stumbled upon an old version of the corresponding en.wiki article that said the train had class 2900 locomotive only (i.e. matched with the information before the edit). Though that revert might have been a bit aggressive, so I appologize for the error from my side. But mostly I refrain from such edits and don't even revert all content removal edits without making sure it was legitimate / sourced content or the edit was a clearly bad faith edit. Svartava (talk) 16:04, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. The link was showing red because the user couldn't link properly, but this edit was a good-faith edit as this train uses 3000 series locomotives since 2021. (English article not updated) I would suggest leaving such edits to local users to deal with. However Weak support for you. Best wishes —MdsShakil (talk) 12:59, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral. I might come out as hasty with my neutral !vote, but their response to MdsShakil's doesn't exactly convince me as they don't seem to take full responsibility for their error(s). --SHB2000 (talk | contribs)07:29, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support Looks qualified to me. Their answer to MdsShakil's question is quite good too and shows willingness to learn from previous mistakes. – Ammarpad (talk) 07:52, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is no local situation for the use of the rollback, but in this case, an explanation would not have been superfluous: the person concerned could understand your modification. What is specific to gr: This tool exists primarily to simplify the reversion of malicious edits and Users should avoid rolling back legitimate or questionable edits…. Cordially. ―Eihel (talk) 21:02, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support as a fellow SWMT Member i see their works alot on SWViewer, everyone makes mistakes from time to time, and the beauty of making mistakes is makes you better since you learn from it, as for SHB2000's concern: i suggest not interfering with any wiki's local affairs unless they want to be a part in that community. 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 18:01, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). While all input is welcome, there is a hard 80% support requirement for this role as per the global renamer policy.
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

I am an administrator, SPI clerk, and edit filter manager on enwiki, and a global renamer; even prior to adminship on enwiki I was an abuse filter helper there. On enwiki I have written all or parts of complex filters like 1200 (mass pronoun changes) and 1238 (private filter matching several doxxing patterns). I also have extensive experience finding filter bugs, having once managed to catch a bug that prevented new users from using the letter "j" anywhere on enwiki. There have been a number of times when it would have been helpful to me to view filter hits on Meta or sister wikis in the course of cross-wiki anti-sockpuppetry work. Ultimately I was spurred to request this right because I proposed a regex for a filter here on Meta, but will not be able to adequately monitor the filter as it is private. For that reason, among others, I think I would be able to better serve the community as an abuse filter helper, with a focus on abusive usernames and managing false positives.
(The policy page on this doesn't really say what the expectations are so if I'm woefully underqualified, someone just say so and I'll withdraw.)
en-N, fr-3, tok-3, can read most Romance languages well enough. This statement available upon request in either of the other languages I speak. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe)01:19, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The desire to help on Meta is what spurred me to do this, but there have been other situations in the past where I would have been able to investigate cross-wiki abuse better with this access. I've also seen any number of EF false positives across various wikis that I couldn't easily investigate. I'm not opposed to requesting limited adminship instead if AFH is going to be a non-starter, but I think I could do more good with the latter. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe)01:40, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, I figured at some point you might consider increasing your access in case you decide that you'd like to edit filters yourself, for which widening the scope of a hypothetical limited adminship would probably be the more straightforward path. Other than that, I have no concerns. ~~~~ User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk)20:22, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Strong support I know Tamzin from en-wiki from quite before when she became an admin there. I have had a very good experience with her at RMT. I am not a techie but Tamzin is, a big support to her from me. ─ The Aafī(talk)18:00, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
