Fundraising translation feedback

[edit]

Hey Geertivp,

I wanted to ask for your help. As you may be aware we have been running banners on many language wikis. We have a lot of new content this year and I really want to conduct a thorough review of our translations. This is a combination of feedback from the community, readers, donors as well as those with professional translator experience. This will help us ensure the highest quality of translations used in our messaging.

To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to give us feedback for Dutch using This Link

Simply follow the simple instructions on that page and if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my talk page.

Many Thanks

Thanks for participating in this year's survey! Unfortunately, you can make no more than three proposals. Please let us know what three you you'd like to keep, and we will Archive the others. From there, you can seek others to adopt your proposals, if you want. Sorry you weren't aware of this rule! [Wikipedia & Education User Group] Updates: November 2018

[edit]

Greetings,

Integrating Wikimedia with education is a powerful strategy for the outreach of Wikimedia projects. Realising this concept, a group of leaders promoted this and formed the Wikipedia Education Collaborative. After some time, this evolved to become a user group, officially recognised by the Affiliations Committee in June 2018. The user group had its first board elections earlier in September. In the process to formalise activities and give a shape the user group for long-term sustainability, we are now revamping our processes. Thanks for supporting us during incubation stages, we are now inviting you to formally join the user group by following the instructions on the members' page. Being a member will allow you to be a part of this wonderful collaboration and also do interesting stuff.

Kind regards

The candidate for the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees is asking you to support his candidacy!

[edit]

Hi Geertivp,
I ask you and your local organization to consider my candidacy for the candidates for the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. I myself put forward my candidacy for this election. I ask you to support my candidacy, as I have a strategic vision of the next. Each of the foreign language sections of the Wikimedia Foundation project must receive the widest support. This will ensure an increase in the content of your linguistic local of the Wikimedia Foundation projects. Other linguistic local communities of the World can count on the same support. Also, I believe that all foreign language sections of the Wikimedia Foundation projects that are less powerful than English speakers should have the same chance for the rapid growth of their local projects.
In case you and your local organization support my candidacy. Then, I ask you to write this in my profile of the candidate for the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. You can write this in the "Endorsements" section of my candidate profile.
Thank you for your attention!

WikiFranca @ Hubs/Ongoing

[edit]

Hi Geert! A while ago you changed the status of WikiFranca to "ongoing" on Hubs/Ongoing, which IMO makes that page a bit confusing - it's not explained in the status section what that status means, and after all that whole page is about ongoing projects. Could you please either add a definition in the status section, or change it to one of the already defined statuses (AIUI the current state of the hub fits into "planning")? ListeriaBot

[edit]

Hello Geert, concerning the current problem with ListeriaBot being stuck, I have noticed that you have posted across the board that the problem has appeared on 8 February ([1], [2]). In fact, it has started on 7 February, as the link that you have yourself shared clearly shows: https://guc.toolforge.org/?src=rc&by=date&user=ListeriaBot. I wish I could understand your reasoning? Regards, Edelseider (talk) 08:08, 13 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Normally the bot continues its updates during the whole day until midnight... From 8 till 12 February there were no updates in https://guc.toolforge.org/?src=rc&by=date&user=ListeriaBot. The problem probably started after 17:36, 07 Feb 2023 (last update before the gap). The bot problem has been fixed on 14:01, 13 Feb 2023 (first run after the problem occurred). We need your feedback on a tool from the Wikimedia Summit

[edit]
Reminder: the guide to using Baserow, presented during the Wikimedia Summit.

Hi! I'm contacting you as one of the participants in the Wikimedia Summit 2022, to kindly ask for your feedback through a 5-10 minute survey to evaluate 'Baserow' (note: the survey is on a Google form).

Baserow was tool through which participants in the Summit co-created a database of Movement Strategy activities. We hope to learn from you how useful it may be to keep using it in the future to help document and connect on Movement Strategy work.

You are welcome and encouraged to fill out the survey in any language. Your feedback would be very appreciated --Abbad (WMF) (talk) 13:06, 16 February 2023 (UTC).Reply

Please request a bot flag @ fiwiki

[edit]

Hi, I just noticed your bot is running in the Finnish Wikipedia without a required bot flag. According to the policy a request must be made for every bot before actually running them. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and best regards, --01miki10 (talk) 21:25, 14 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have added bot request for fi:User:GeertivpBot as requested above -- please approve the bot flag. Thanks a lot. Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) (talk) 21:00, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

cswiki #pwb Add Reflist

[edit]

Hey there, I noticed your bot has been changing <references /> tags to the {{Reflist}} template on the Czech Wikipedia. Just a heads-up, the preferred style on the Czech Wikipedia is to use the <references /> tag for references. You can verify this on the this page. If possible, could you please adjust the code of the bot accordingly? Thanks! Tengoblinekcz (talk) 21:42, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for notifying me. I have corrected the bot. Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) (talk) 07:18, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Defaultsort on nnwiki

[edit]

Hello, thanks for your bot efforts. I noticed your bot added defaultsort to an article on nnwiki. This is unnecessary, as correct sorting is already done through a template. Indeed, it creates an error message. Hopefully you can correct this, and keep up the good work! Ranveig (talk) 08:13, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have adapted the @GeertivpBot as requested. Could you please indicate in which template(s) the automatic DEFAULTSORT statement is generated for nnwiki? Geert Van Pamel (WMBE) (talk) 09:50, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
