This page is for requests to have stewards grant or revoke administrator, bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure.

Old sections are archived. The list of archives is below.

  • Requests for bot flags are handled at SRB, and requests for global permissions are handled at SRGP.
  • If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (index).
  • For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the #wikimedia-stewardsconnect IRC channel. In emergencies, type !steward in the channel to get the attention of stewards. Otherwise, you can type @steward for non-urgent help.

Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community.

Using this page

1. Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below:

==== Username@xxproject ====
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = <!-- such as en.wikibooks -->
 |user name =
 |discussion=
}}
(your remarks) ~~~~

2. Fill in the values:

  • domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
  • user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
  • discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "[[ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser]]"). This should normally be for at least one week, but no more than three weeks (if so, you'll need to restart the process).

3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Confirmation of signing confidentiality agreement

Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to sign a confidentiality agreement. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also sign the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the Office.

Administrator access

Steward requests/Permissions/Sysop-header

D'AroemenenZullenNiVergaan@roa-rup.wikipedia

The user Vituzzu has previously massively deleted no-content pages from the wiki, but many more are still left. I am looking forward to continue his efforts, and furthermore, in the absence of a local active community, to fight spam. Hence, I request a temporary adminship.--D'AroemenenZullenNiVergaan (talk) 22:17, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

 On hold for a week until 13 March. --MF-W 23:07, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Texugo@ptwikivoyage

I request permanent administratorship. I was administrator for 6 years over the pre-wmf version of this wiki, and my current temporary administratorship ends on March 24. I am also permanent admin on en:WV. I am by far the most active administrator and user on pt:, have always used the shiny buttons responsibly, and it's fairly obvious that I won't be abandoning the project or turning renegade. Thanks. Bureaucrat access

Steward requests/Permissions/Crat-header

Дагиров Умар@ce.wikipedia.org

(I request to a flag of Bureaucrat. Here is the voting page. ce:Википедийа:Requests for bureaucratship Not all of users are active in Chechen Wikipedia, and if you'll deside to not giving me Bureaucrat access, I requesting the Administrator flag to deleting vandalism and spam. Also, I would like to draw your attention to curent situation with Bureaucrats in Chechen Wikipedia. None of them are active now and also I do not understand how many of them even became Bureaucrats: http://ce.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%D0%91%D0%B5%D0%BB%D1%85%D0%B0%D0%BD:%D0%A1%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BA_%D1%83%D1%87%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B2&group=bureaucrat Nohcho - not active since 11 May, 2010 (also have Bot flag!) Girdi - not active since 28 November, 2010 Kade - not active since 12 February, 2011 Mega programmer - not active since 13 June, 2012 (3 edits since June 2011)

What should we do to removing Bureaucrat flags from those users? And can you remove flags without community decision?) Дагиров Умар (talk) 13:43, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Comment A discussion in the community that addresses the removal of bureaucrats, AND notifying the relevant people of the discussion. I would expect that such a discussion should be open for a month to get sufficient airing. — billinghurst sDrewth 15:02, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Comment addendum. I have removed the bot flag for the bureaucrat. That would seem to be inappropriate as a permanent addition for a crat.
I am significantly concerned about this request, as there were complaints lodged at the English Wikipedia about users there being canvassed to support this request. Please see [2]. --Rschen7754 22:12, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
On Chechen wikipedia and there are no such rules, you worry for nothing I do not have bad ends I want to improve Wikipedia invite new members if you can leave the project against. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 06:25, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Umar! Rschen7754 - what do you want - to сomply the strange rules in the project without active admins, with admins with 9 edits in 2008 year or just going away in your own project and do not bother to users who really want to help the project? What are you talking about? What are you done for the Chechen Wikipedia to have a right to stopping of its development? Uh? Umar wrote to me also and what? Without that I would not even know about voting. Enough!--Soul Train (talk) 06:40, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Canvassing causes an unfair election, and the stewards have the right to deny this request because of that. --Rschen7754 06:51, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Stewards have right to not stop the development of Chechen Wikipedia and I think this is the main thing, not "Canvassing" as your opinion. Opinion of the user of Largest Developed section of Wikipedia, not user of section where when you just write "Russian Federation", you take the threatening letter from admin Sasan700. You know nothing about Chechen Wikipedia, how can you morally write here bad things about Umar who wants to resurrect Chechen Wikipedia from ruins. Disrespect to you.--Soul Train (talk) 08:10, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Last year, I also applied for half of the year continued the vote and not a single no vote for and not against the tip page has been deleted. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 07:00, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(non-steward opinion) ce:Special:Statistics tells me that you have 68 active users; that is not enough for local bureaucrats, in my opinion. Meanwhile, the stewards are available to do bureaucrat tasks on wikis without bureaucrats. I realize that you do not have active administrators, but that can be solved through what is known as temporary adminship. --Rschen7754 07:12, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The project allready have 5 bureaucrats. As I think, all 5 are mitpuppets of one user who is inactive now. And of course it is another issue. And number of active users is not the main indicator for bureaucrats - the main thing is the number of administrators on 1 bureaucrat. And as Umar said, there is a desire to remove the flags from the inactive bureaucrats, to avoid skew.--Soul Train (talk) 07:40, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Your opinion is clear you want to close this request? Find an active participant in the project and I'll leave. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 07:17, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Skilled and experienced an ethnic Chechen, locate, and I ask all. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 07:29, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The bureaucrats are in the article on Chechnya president write that he was born illegitimate and his parents are dirty pigs and that he is traitor of Chechen people, is this normal? See what our people have done for this Kadyrov Do you like to continue the campaign and that the city was once so. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 08:11, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Are you worried about my posts did not know what happen in the Chechen Wikipedia without knowing the English language I fail to properly convey to you this. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 10:03, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Umar, I correct your message.--Soul Train (talk) 08:14, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good Soul Train. thanks. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 08:27, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This is the Permissions withdrawal requests page ce:Википедийа:Permissions withdrawal requests. In accordance with the recommendations of Billinhurst, this voting will continue one month. All users from this page were warned by Soul Train on their talk pages. And, by the way, one of those bureaucrat found my page in social network "Odnoklassniki" and said to me that he can find me and it's gonna happen some bad things with me and with my son. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 11:10, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I reiterate my support. The user is the most serious contributor to that wiki. I see no problem with canvassing in this case. This is a small wiki, and this request doesn't have a lot of chances to get any more attention otherwise. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 09:35, 28 February 2013 (UTC) ce.wpo[reply]
Comment:I would also support this. (Note that this Meta page is on my watchlist for already about five years). The situation on ce.wp right now is that the existing sysops and bureaucrats (most likey, all of them are are in fact the same person) most of the time inactive, and when they become active, they conduct activity incompatible with the Five Pillars. I do not know about canvassing (in fact, I discussed the situation with Umar and advised him to run an RfB, but did not vote myself), but ther is no "other side" in this story. The other side would not come and vote against him, they would just stop the RfB, delete the page and block him indefinitely if they show up in the project and notice the RfB. Luckily, they did not show up for the long time.--Ymblanter (talk) 12:07, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Support Support this request. I fully agree with Amir & Ymblanter. I think, this is key issue for starting re-development of Chechen wiki. I also support for removing Bureaucrat flags from inactive users. --Kaganer (talk) 17:58, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would like to know about the situation with the permissions of Dagirov Umar and how long we can waiting for? There are many problems in Chechen Wikipedia, not only about threatening from currently low-active administrators (I mean Sasan700), but just with the technical part; for example, it needed to adding the Wikificator in MediaWiki space for remove in articles numbers in the middle of texts - numbers that must be Chechen letter Ӏ (Ӏа) also known as Palochka.--Soul Train (talk) 19:46, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I look forward to the end, I many ideas you need to create a lot of things to remove debris. Ask the stewards accepted solution is nothing more to build new states will not know everything. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 19:56, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am inclined to deny this request on the basis of the major and ridiculous canvassing that has gone on and which makes it impossible for us to determine consensus. I wouldn't mind hearing some opinions on this from my colleagues tho. Snowolf How can I help? 22:40, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In any case, with 5 local 'crats, please contact them about this request first, one of them actually edited fairly recently and maybe would reply to an email or talk page message. Snowolf How can I help? 22:44, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What are you doing? Do you even understand? Facepalm. You want another voting without "canvassing" (whatta stupid word...)? OK, you'll get it. But this is simply waste of time.--Soul Train (talk) 12:32, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, Snowolf, can you show me the discussion in Chechen Wikipedia where, for example, user Shatoidil get his administrator permission? It is very interesting question that bothers me for a long time. Please, show me discussion, according to which its flag is official. And I'll agree with you. But now you are protect the violations. And if this is so, then your permission of steward should be removed. Am I right? Tell me.--Soul Train (talk) 12:51, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Inactive bureaucrats and administrators are notified. I had to report the vote I take off and do not know they can vote against it if there is a cause and honestly did not know it is wrong. I DO NOT Vandal flag if I confide that I will not let you down. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 23:57, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree but to re-vote will take time and the chechns Wikipedia lot of work waiting. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 00:58, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am ready to grant you a temp sysop permission for 6 months (taking to account that you already was a temp sysop in the past). In this case you will have sufficient time to file a new request for a permanent adminship. I agree that cewiki does not need bureaucrats as it is currently too small. Ruslik (talk) 06:35, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree to the temporary permission, until the decision on the administrator's voting.
"I agree that cewiki does not need bureaucrats as it is currently too small." This is very interesting remark, really :) In such case, the Bureaucrat permission should be removed from the user Sasan700 also.--Soul Train (talk) 08:26, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Today, with no reason, with no warnings at users talk page, Dagirov Umar was permanently blocked by user Dagger who didn't edited the project since 24 December, 2012. After that he reverted editions in the article about en:Flag of Chechnya and placed flag of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (1991-2004). This article is not about historical flag of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, but about the present flag of Chechen Republic, and this is another mystification of current administrators. But I'm talking about something else. Dagger blocked permanently user who have 100% support at Request for adminship. With no reason (no, reason is "false information", but he doing it himself), and he done it twice. I want to know the opinion of the stewards about this situation.--Soul Train (talk) 18:43, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Here is a fine example of "objectivity" from user Dagger: "Эта статья о ПРИЗНАНННОЙ тремья государствами Чеченской Республики Ичкерия, о Чечне в составе Рф я ничего незнаю, Чечни больше нет, есть Ичкерия. Dagger 21:09, 28 нажи бутт 2012 (UTC)" - Translation: "This is the article about RECOGNIZED by 3 countries Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, about Chechnya as a part of Russian Federation I know nothing, it is no longer (exist), there's (only) Ichkeria". I don't understand, is he (Dagger) leaving in some kind of dream or computer game?--Soul Train (talk) 18:59, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly what I mentioned up this thread.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:14, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Note that Dagger him/herself was never elected administrator.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:15, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They are saying that you vandalised the project with pornographic images. And that you are also unable to speak/write in Chechen language? I find the claim on not speaking the language quite specious, given that Umar wrote ce:Юрт-Аух. Russavia (talk) 10:28, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I can swear on the Koran that I did not do vandalism with a photograph. And on account of knowledge I can say this they just do not say what the main reason is that block that I do not live in the past and do not say about that at the image do momet Chechen nation They also say that does not speak the language of the Chechen. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 10:43, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And what about this? Sometimes I also ask to translate some articles in the Russian Wikipedia, because I have no time for this, for example. I don't think that it is indicate that I don't know Russian language ;) And, yes, I agree with idea about the steward noticeboard.--Soul Train (talk) 10:45, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The reason for my block is the fact that I do not support the separatists and is convinced that the Wikipedia encyclopedia and not a site of Ichkeria. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 10:54, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was sitting in the Chechen wikipedia as a bomb what good for me to write something tomorrow if I can block as well as participants from Chechnya are not eligible project if they do not write that today there are Chechen nation and its prizident Yandarbiyev and mayor of Grozny is also a man which does not work in the city for many years. -- Дагиров Умар (talk) 11:11, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Now, should we make a decision? Obviously as soon as one page is locally protected and blanked and another one is deleted, nobody can take any further action. How can we complete the request?--Ymblanter (talk) 21:20, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, provide a link to the discussion, with a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a [[<tvar name="crat-rem">Bureaucrat#Removing_access</tvar>|separate list of these specific wikis]].

You have both bureaucrat and sysop rights. Are you asking for just the sysop to be removed, or both? thanks QuiteUnusual TalkQu 10:31, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the link to which you pointed is for Hebrew Wiktionary, yet you have requested of rights for Hebrew Wikiquote. Please be explicit on what is required, site and which rights are to be removed. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:47, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mabdul@lowikipedia

I want to import enwp templates correctly (not by copy/pasting). Moreover I'm cleaning up lowp since a few weeks tagging pages and moving pages to the correct places, adding images from commons, etc... The right would help me, the community is defacto dead (ony a few users working on the actual content, see recent changes) and thus nobody was responding to my request. mabdul 11:47, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Let's give the community a moment to comment in the discussion there. Pundit (talk) 12:45, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The request was posted on 15 February. --MF-W 23:56, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You'd better request setup of import sources. Ruslik (talk) 18:13, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, you should file a bug for that. Currently, lo:Special:Import doesn't allow import from any sources. πr2 (t • c) 18:18, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the import status would of course allow uploads from XML files. However I agree that here probably it is best to give the transwiki status, as only pages from one wiki are planned to be imported. Additionally, while I trust the user to handle the importupload permission in a way that won't break the wiki (which it can!), with only the transwiki import possibility the potential problems would be lower (Mabdul is not a sysop there, so he can't clean up mistakenly imported stuff directly). --MF-W 19:18, 4 March 2013 (UTC) — This made me have an idea: Wikimedia_Forum#Idea:_standard_import_sources. --MF-W 19:27, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Uhm, I never checked that because I thought the importing is turned on by default on every WMF wiki. o.O
I will check the forum thread shortly... mabdul 06:42, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
