This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
Hello, I'm Fehufanga, and I'm requesting global rollback rights. Often, when I am patrolling the recent changes on the English Wikipedia or the Simple English Wikipedia, I'd encounter problematic users whose edits need to be reverted across multiple projects. Global rollback would be very useful to me, as I often encounter CAPTCHAs when reverting edits, or TwinkleGlobal fails to load. I will not use global rollback in content disputes. Thank you for your consideration.--*Fehufangą ♮ ✉ Talk page ♮ 12:26, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential. Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.

Personal info: Hello everyone, this is Stang, I'm here to request global-sysop access to help with blocking LTAs and spambots on small wikis, protecting related vandalized pages, rollbacking edit tests, and apparent vandalism.
I have been editing Wikipedia since 2015 and my home wiki is Chinese Wikipedia. I'm also active on many other big or small projects, where I mainly perform maintenance works, translate multilingual pages, and do a small amount of content contribution. I hold rollback flags on multiple sites, which is helpful when performing mass rollback on a particular user's edits. Speaking about experiences related to waving a mop, I have been a sysop on the Chinese Wikipedia from 2016 till 2021, and currently a sysop on the Beta Wikiversity (since 2016), Wikidata, and MediaWiki wiki (both since this year). Although the experience related to performing administrative actions is not enough compared to other previous candidates, I feel that I have sufficient ability to identify vandalism and spam, and I know what to do when such bad kinds of stuff come into my eye.
During the past year, I made a number of requests on GSR page, and left some messages on the GS IRC channel. Sometimes it's not that easy to reach an online GS, and I thought in such cases I could give a hand. I use tools like SWViewer and TwinkleGlobal to quickly spot suspicious edits; most of the time when I am online, I could be reached in channel #wikimedia-stewards and #wikimedia-gs. I am also willing to process some simple requests posted on SRM.
I understand that not all the details can be provided about the WMF desysop on zhwiki, but without those I find it hard to provide a proper evaluation of this candidacy. --Rschen775401:51, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Considering that the action taken was to desysop/decrat you and GS has sysop rights on most zh-related wikis, WMF should be informed of this. --Minorax«¦talk¦»06:06, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Weak oppose - I'm sorry, but at this moment, I don't feel comfortable with this request (as discussed above) at this moment. I will likely change my mind in the future, but not for now. --Daniuu (talk) 17:21, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support, since the candidate has demonstrated adequate experience in anti-vandalism routine work across various wikis. The information about OA2021 disclosed by WMF is too little for me to evaluate the canvass issue, but from my observation the candidate is likely to be elected again on zhwiki. I suggest that the candidate run an RfA on zhwiki again, which may alleviate the concerns from global community if successful. --WhitePhosphorus (talk) 11:53, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Sorry, I cannot support a vote after one year of desysop. It would be good if you revoke this request and come back after a "yes" from the WMF T&S.--𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫👤💬12:24, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still not sure how I feel about this. This is someone who does a load of cross-wiki work and I think we would be better off having them as a GS, but then again, OA2021 was just over a year ago so I don't feel comfortable supporting. If Stang successfully RfAs on zhwiki then that'll definitely move me to support on a future request. --Ferien (talk) 19:37, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Weak oppose -- I'm sorry, but someone who experienced a dysop a year ago in a large wiki, I cannot support for Global Sysop. But as also said above, if he becomes admin again on a large wiki as zhwiki, I think I will change my mind. Tip: maybe global rollback is an option for this moment? Drummingman (talk) 19:57, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support COI: They are the first sysop on any wiki that granted me rollback rights. I will say their crosswiki record seems quite decent, and good GSR requests, and as per my experience in zhwp they seems competent in using the tools. Yes, the OA2021 is very murky in details, and we cannot judge comprehensively why the desysop and decrat happened, but barring these offwiki issues, the onwiki standard seems met. I also agree with most of WhitePhosphorus points. Just a note, they are elected on Wikidata recently as a sysop. While Wikidata isn't necessarily large, it's isn't small either and some GS had passed based on sysopship on medium sized wikis. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 06:55, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support I understand the reason for the oppose !votes, but even if Stang was unsure why they were desysopped on their home wiki, then it's not really their fault that they couldn't explain why. Either way, GS doesn't affect zhwiki and they're an effective x-wiki patroller so supporting. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs)01:20, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When you give someone global rename rights, please add them to the list of global renamers and ask them to subscribe to the global renamers' mailing list.

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). While all input is welcome, there is a hard 80% support requirement for this role as per the global renamer policy.
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

Hello. I need this right because of some existing problem with my internet and in order to continue to contribute. Of course, I problem a lot without this right. I request your evaluation. Good days. Thanks. Kind regards, Dancewithdevil (talk) 15:27, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The current block on azwiki is concerning for me to consider block exemption. Since Wikipedia doesn't allow anonymizing proxies or VPNs, I advise you to try turning your VPN off to resolve the issue. If there is a reason you require the VPN to access Wikimedia projects, please contact the Stewards on UTRS. Operator873 connect07:54, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Operator873, the block has nothing to do with it. The block was unfounded and almost all the admins objected to it, and then the blocker reduced the time. You can look. Actually, I had this right on the local wikipedia for a long time, but it was unfoundedly taken from me. I made a request and my reasons were unfounded and ignored. Understanding was not shown and the right was not given to me. I don't know the reason either. I use VPN because my internet has access restrictions. So I use VPN most of the time and I contribute to more than one Wikipedia project. In short, I need this right in order to continue my contributions. P.S. I have this right on Tr Wikipedia. You can check. Thanks. Dancewithdevil (talk) 10:57, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am in Chinese Mainland, and the circumvention tool I am using has been blocked by the IP of your platform, and I hope to obtain immunity from IP blocking
