AffCom and GRDC members at APP meeting, Lisbon, Portugal

Affiliate Recognition and Derecognition: This past quarter, AffCom recognized no new Affiliates due to the pause in recognizing new affiliates.

AffCom Conflict Intervention: AffCom is currently addressing eight ongoing affiliate conflict cases received in previous quarters.

Affiliate Recognition Pause Extension: The Wikimedia Foundation, together with the AffCom, has extended the pause on new affiliate recognition until September 1, 2026.

New Affiliate Model Development Efforts: The Affiliations Committee held collaborative meetings with the Global Resource Distribution Committee (GRDC) to explore the development of a new affiliations model.

Towards a Healthy Ecosystem of Wikimedia Organizations: Two major pilot initiatives were launched to address long-standing questions about the roles of movement organizations and the future of resource allocation.

संबद्धता समिति (जिसे पहले अध्याय समिति के नाम से जाना जाता था, बोलचाल की भाषा में AffCom) एक विकिमीडिया समुदाय द्वारा संचालित समिति जिसे आंदोलन के संबंधों: राष्ट्रीय और उपराष्ट्रीय अध्यायों, विषयगत संगठनों और सदस्य समूहों, के अनुमोदन पर विकिमीडिया संस्थान न्यासी मंडल को सलाह देने की ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी गई है।

संबद्धता समिति, विकिमीडिया आंदोलन संबंधों की मान्यता, अनुमोदन और अस्तित्व पर और उन संगठनों के निर्माण की सुविधा के लिए न्यासी बोर्ड को सिफारिशें करती है। दूसरे शब्दों में, समिति दुनिया भर के विकिमीडियाइयों को अध्याय, विषयगत संगठन और सदस्य समूह में अपने आप को व्यवस्थित करने में मदद करती है, और विकिमीडिया संस्थान से आधिकारिक मान्यता प्राप्त करवाती है।

The Affiliates Committee comprises volunteers selected for their enthusiasm and their skills in community organising, cross-cultural communication, reviewing bylaws, and providing governance advice for emerging organisations. There are currently 9 (nine) voting members with terms of three years each.

Voting members of the Committee are helped by non-voting advisors. Advisors provide the Committee with on-the-ground experience, language skills, and governance advice, and are able to take part in discussions at subcommittee meetings.

Certain Wikimedia Foundation staff members support the Committee in its operations and help the Committee to function effectively. They are actively present on the Affiliations Committee's non-public mailing list and internal wiki, and may provide advice to the Committee based on their knowledge and expertise. They are not voting Committee members.

The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees appoint liaisons to the Committee to facilitate communication and coordination between the Committee and the Board. The liaisons shall be the Committee's primary point of contact with the Board, and shall serve to update the Board on the Committee's activities and update the Committee on relevant Board activities. They may request information related to the Committee's operations as necessary to carry out their role. They are not voting Committee members.
