This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Global rollback for Count Count

Hi all! I would like to request global rollback rights for my crosswiki anti-vandalism and anti-spam work. While fighting spam I won't frequently use rollback, but the autoreviewrestore right is still beneficial for manual reverts in projects that use flagged revisions. For anti-vandalism work global rollback is very helpful for reverting high-velocity crosswiki vandals. Also I am getting a bit tired of filling out captchas.

I am a sysop and ex-arb on dewiki, rollbacker on enwiki and wikidata and global abuse filter helper. I have reviewed the global rollback policy. Thanks, --Count Count (talk) 14:00, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While all input is welcome, there is a hard 80% support requirement for this role as per the global renamer policy.

Hi @Xiaoluobo58, can you please answer Amanda's question above please? For the record, local IPBE's a stronger permission than the global exemption. Hi @慕尼黑啤酒, can you answer Amanda's question above please? For the record, local IP block exemption is "stronger" than the global one, and if the local IPBE didn't resolve the issue, it's likely something else plays a role. Global IP block exempt for Yusancky

Hello. Since I'm from China, I can only access Wikipedia through a proxy server. About two months ago, I successfully applied for blocking exemption for the Chinese Wikipedia, and later I was autoconfirmed. @Yusancky: A global exemption will not help you on the English Wikipedia. They block proxies a lot more than we do globally. GIPBE only affects global blocks, where local IPBE affects local and global blocks. My suggestion is you apply for it locally. -- Amanda (she/her) 17:43, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Abuse filter helper for zzuuzz

Hi. I'm mostly active on enwiki, where I'm an admin and checkuser. I usually find myself dealing with long term abuse and chronic disruption, much of which is cross-wiki. To help with this I'm requesting non-temporary global AFH in order to view filters and filter hits from other wikis. This will mostly be useful in informing sockpuppet investigations with a cross-wiki element and helping counter cross-wiki abuse. I've a lot of experience with the enwiki abuse filter, and I'm thinking there might also be some scope for some cross-wiki filter suggestions or coordination.
