This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Jan Myšák

Not ending before 30 December 2020 19:04 UTC

Hi, I'm Jan Myšák and I'm a cswiki sysop. I've been doing RC patrol there for over a year, I revert cross-wiki vandalism using SWViewer and I also patrol on enwiki using Twinkle. Hence global rollback would come in handy for me. Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 19:04, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Oppose I don't see any cross-wiki evidence? The edit matrix is bad, and your statement mentions work only in cswiki and enwiki (which has its own rollback procedure if you are looking for that). GR is generally for users who work on several wikis. Leaderboard (talk) 19:11, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Leaderboard: I opened Jan Myšák's GUC, and I do see some undos there at multiple wikis. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:16, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
only in this month. He was not active before that month. -𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 👤💬 19:20, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, he's active much more in this month, but not only, see [1], [2] or [3]. GR should not be that big deal, in my opinion, trusted users from medium/large wikis with some experience in xwiki patrolling should be considered. However, I fully respect your opinion. Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:30, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Martin Urbanec: Hi, it was not clear to me what the OP was looking for, because their statement mentions only cswiki and enwiki. Am I missing something? Leaderboard (talk) 07:52, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what OP means. The statement says "I revert cross-wiki vandalism using SWViewer", too. Martin Urbanec (talk) 17:45, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose +1 -𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 👤💬 19:14, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Support Jan Myšák has good judgement, is trusted at cswiki and is active in xwiki patrolling. No issues from my side. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:13, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Support per Martin, I consider sysops on medium/large wikis to have some experience already. --Rschen7754 19:18, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Weak support He/she is an admin on cswiki. There has been a cross-wiki activity of about 60-70 wikis for the last 2 weeks. Maybe he/she could be a little more active before this request. However, there are a few edits he/she has undone between August and November. For these reasons, I can't directly oppose this request and can't give full support. Thank for your edits. --Uncitoyentalk 20:41, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Weak support Trusted but xwiki activity is low and it looks like they actually started patrolling in late November. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 07:25, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Oppose Oppose It looks like they don't have an understanding of cross wiki patrolling yet. Please don't get discouraged by this and come back when you have more experience. Also, if you don't know the language, don't revert, unless it's purely vandalism/spam. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 02:31, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Weak support per Uncitoyen --DannyS712 (talk) 09:17, 26 December 2020 (UTC)Reconsidering --DannyS712 (talk) 00:43, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Neutral Neutral While the fact that they are a sysop on cswp prove they are reliable, but to be honest we are seeing very little of crosswiki activity (mainly due to them starting for 1 month only per 1997kB). I am seeing this and the above application as premature, there is no doubt they can be trusted (just as SCP-2000), but then there isn't much use cases (like heavy use of undos until the point a rollback will be preferred - to be honest undos aren't that painful). GR isn't a very big deal either so that partly negates. I really don't see a real reason to oppose, but doesn't see a real reason to support either. Hence, I am neutral here. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:05, 26 December 2020 (UTC) Per the below evidence given by MrJaroslavik (thank you for pointing out the diffs), there seems some problem with reverts which shows a lack of experience which might end up with some problems. I am sorry but to Oppose Oppose this. A few more months of xwiki work will be more desired. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 16:54, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose >> [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10] (not related to SWMT, but) << If you do not know the language or traditions of wiki, do not rollback. --MrJaroslavik (talk) 14:46, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    6 — pure vandalism.—Iluvatar (talk) 16:15, 26 December 2020 (UTC) 6 — (please, always check history of page when SWViewer not tell you that this is first revision). 5 — Small wikis often different (more lower) criteria of notability and spam. 9 — good action, no problems; 10 — no problems (WP:BOLD) and not related to SWMT.—Iluvatar (talk) 17:50, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    Analysis: 4 is really content changes that seems valid, hence shouldn't be rollbacked (or without a summary undo), 5 the tagging of spam is harsh, undone by a local sysop, well the subject I googled seems valid (some news coverage), tone isn't promotional, but we cannot judge local consensus. Often I also tagged something for spam and some local sysops disagrees, but this one really doesn't seems spammy. 6 is pure vandalism (I agree with Iluvatar - Martin action is just to save the page which only is possible if you know the language) 7 seems valid changing of images, the new one seems better, but anyway this doesn't allow for undos without summary or rollback 8 clearly good faith edit, shouldn't be rollbacked as it is very BITEy (see the birth date and the date added - it's the same) 9 No comments on this 10 Clearly we shouldn't be changing sources, but if we would, the better way is to cite it, but it's nothing to do with SMWT, and in SMWT we do not take care of content, just patent vandalism we handle, so such changing of content is a little worrying.Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 16:52, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose sysop on a couple of wikis does not convince me, but rather consistent x-wiki activity does. In addition, the links provided above are concerning and show a lack of experience: therefore, I oppose. —Atcovi (Talk - Contribs) 16:08, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose --Krd 18:50, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose Sorry, but I can't ignore the comments above, I think he needs more cross-wiki experience. There is no rush in these cases. --Superpes15 (talk) 21:33, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose Minorax (talk) 01:23, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose Not enough cross-wiki experience. --Ján Kepler (talk) 07:33, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for global rename permissions

Global rename for DejaVu

Not ending before 2 January 2021 19:09 UTC

Hello. I am active member of OTRS team and an administrator on the Persian wikipedia. My main concern for this request is non-Latin user names and abuses that It may cause because of similarities, I think an admin who knows these languages (Arabic and Persian scripts) is vital for global rename team. I have read and understood all relevant rename policies and with global renamer I would help reduce the rename backlogs and contribute to a speedier block review process, easing the burden on other global renamers. Thanks for your consideration. Déjà vu 19:09, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for Maantietäjä

Hello, I am Maantietäjä! I worked in the Finnish language Wikipedia (mostly), but I'm very much expanded also to other parts. I often see different usernames being changed (i.e. some users want a username change). I thought I could become a global username changer too. I have read Meta-Wiki guidelines and practices relating to, own a global account and I have the language skills to your user page. I really want to try and be helpful by changing the names of the users who want it! --Maantietäjä (talk) 19:17, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for ネイ

Not ending before 11 January 2021 14:35 UTC

Hello. I have received a ping at my talk page which mentions that there is a long rename backlog from Japanese users and there is a shortage of Japanese speakers among the global renamers. I am an administrator on the Japanese Wikipedia and have some editing experience on other wikis (enwiki, zhwiki, Wikidata, Commons), so I think I might be able to help and therefore requesting the permission. I have gone through the relevant rename policies and will mainly work on requests from Japanese users. ネイ (talk) 14:35, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Zhouii

I'm from Mainland China. I have to use a proxy to edit wikipedia. Thanks! --Zhouii (talk) 09:00, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You do not appear to edit outside zhwiki. Ruslik (talk) 20:16, 26 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Zhouii, could you specify whether you intend to edit other wikis than Mandarin Wikipedia? --Base (talk) 09:23, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Base, yes, I attempted to start to do some translations from Mandarin to English, and I found my proxy IP is forbidden to edit. But Wikipedia is wholly blocked in China and I have to use a proxy to visit. So I wish to have IP block exemption. Thanks! --Zhouii (talk) 12:58, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Zhouii, Done. Please be aware though that despite global exemption you might still need to ask for a local one in some wikis if the block you run into is a local and not a global one. --Base (talk) 12:11, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for YFdyh000

I live in China and sometimes editing on Wikimedia sites, the global exempt will save my time for finding available proxy. I have an exception on zhwiki. --YFdyh000 (talk) 14:59, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
