This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.
Hi, I'm NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh. I have been active in patrolling small wikis for quite a time. My first time requesting GR was about two months ago but it turned out I was not exprerienced enough for the tool. I'm requesting for it again in the hope that I have changed myself positively. Thanks for your consideration, NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh21:06, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Weak support I've crossed them several times, I think that the flag can only be useful to them. The only advice I can give is that patrolling is not a race between who clicks faster, it's always better to take an extra moment to check the whole history, the guc and the range (and to think what is best to do). For example, I recommended to avoid continuousrollbacks in the same page with a LTA already reported, waiting for a block. Btw I think they've enough experience, so there is no reason not to assign the flag. Many thanks for volunteering and for your work! --Superpes15 (talk) 03:31, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding your opinion, this is my reply (not an excuse, just a lengthy explanation):
Normally, I'm not the revert-and-that's-it type. When seeing a disruptive edit, the first thing I click is not the revert button, but the username (which leads to their contribs page in a new tab). After that, I will try to investigate as much as possible: If they are not registered, check for (range) GUC; if registered, check for CentralAuth, then their edits at different wikis. If they created promotional userpages/item/uploaded copyvio files to Commons, I'll also tag them for deletion. If the page was in a GS wiki, check Special:ListAdmins. If the edit was to spam, go to GlobalSearch/WM:SBL.
Along with those task, sometimes I even do some (basic) coding, reading online documentation, reply to messages, check alerts or some similar tasks while patrolling, especially if I spot something that makes me feel interested or that I may forget later. That clogged my browser up really fast that after a few minutes I usually end up with about 60-70 tabs. That being said, I have to deal with two queues at the same time: SWViewer and the number of my browser tabs. When the first one is over, the second comes, and everything starts all over again.
So, when reverting those edits (the links you cited), I probably did that instinctively. Anyway, I'll refrain from doing so and try to slow myself down a bit.
Thanks for the explanation, those rollbacks happened by chance just as I was patrolling so I noticed it. After your explanation, since my little doubts have been fully clarified, I change my vote to full Support! Unfortunately what you say happens to me too, also because the my PC starts to "explode" already with 15-20 open tabs, so I can understand what you mean. Btw I really think you are doing a great job and I never questioned it. Regards. --Superpes15 (talk) 22:41, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support I see no issues this time apart from what was expressed by Superpes15: a subtle approach should prevail in countervandalism activity. Anyway thanks for volunteering!--Renvoy (talk) 09:34, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support though I hope they revert war with LTAs less since it is wasting time and giving them attention, and is not an appropriate use for global rollback. --Ferien (talk) 21:09, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
Dear all, I'm Superpes15, a global rollbacker active cross-wiki in the fight against vandalism and spambots, particularly in Small Wikis. I thought about applying for the GS flag last year but, as I am not a user who collects flags that they do not need, having been appointed to the Ombuds Commission, I avoided asking for it and concentrated my contribution on OC matters (yes, I know it may not look like that from the outside, but I assure you we have worked hard). In the last months of 2021 my contribution, due to various events due to the pandemic situation in RL, stopped abruptly. Now that I'm active again I think I'm ready to ask to be part of this group. I was an itwiki and itwikiversity sysop. In particular, on itwikiversity I asked for a temporary flag to help the GS to fight the continuous spambots and LTA, during a time when they targeted that project, and there were no active local sysops. I always think that quality of work is more important than speed in patrolling. In recent years I have had the opportunity to expand my knowledge on LTA and spambots, and I'm a person who always thinks before clicking, so obviously I would use the flags in case of real need and as required by the policies (for example, unless it's really urgent, I would not use them on a GS wiki that has a local admin who was active a few hours before). If you didn't consider me suitable for this role, I would continue to work as I have done so far. I thank those who will leave their feedback here. Best regards. --Superpes15 (talk) 21:15, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

The request will be approved if there is demonstrated need for the permission, such as bypassing a global block from someone who is not the intended target.
I've read the help page. I understand it's a best practice as I'm using 2FA pretty much everywhere. I'm also in the process of enabling it everywhere that 1password says they're available and Wikipedia is one of the last ones. Thanks! --Gligoran (talk) 20:15, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a short period of consideration. A steward will review the request.
Please add me to the Hungarian VRT team with access to the info-hu and permissions queues. I would like to help the team as I did until now, and I need the access for my work inside the Hungarian chapter (responsible for communication) as well. My access was removed on Friday, even though I answered that I need it and I am around. Thank you! -- Samat (talk) 12:03, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
