This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Successful global rollback requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion, successful global renamer requests require no fewer than 3 days (if the user is a bureaucrat) or 2 weeks (if the user is not a bureaucrat or if valid concerns are raised), while successful global sysop discussions require no fewer than 2 weeks.
Cross-wiki requests
Meta-Wiki requests

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Mdann52

The following request is closed. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hey all! I've done various cross-wiki anti-vandalism work in the past, including semi-activeness on the SWMT (I'm not an official member, although I try and help out when I can). I'm also a member of OTRS, which has emails sent in for various projects reporting vandalism and the like, so I get some cross-wiki involvement in that reguard too. If I get granted this right, I probably will become more active cross-wiki, and hope the SWMT will be able to take up more of my time once I have the freedom after my next batch of exams. Also, I feel the other rights that are bundled in with this (mainly suppressredirect) would be useful in my work in a few places. Thanks in advance, Mdann52 (talk) 11:57, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done No consensus to grant GR at this time. Please use Twinkle, stay active in the SWMT and just re-apply in the future. Trijnsteltalk 14:59, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for global rename permissions

Steward requests/Global permissions/Global renamers

Global rename for Keegan

I'm volunteering to assist as a global renamer, I do not hold 'crat flags on any public wiki, only on otrs-wiki. As a volunteer, I'm an administrator, Oversighter, and CheckUser on the English Wikipedia. Globally, I'm an OTRS admin. I've been an English Wikipedia admin for nine years, en.wiki OS and OTRS admin for six years, en.wiki CU for for four years.

In my capacity as a community liaison for the Wikimedia Foundation I've become intimately familiar with Global renaming, local renaming policies, and communication with users requesting new names. I would gladly like to help now, and in perpetuity, to help with renaming user accounts. I will not process any request that is related to a direct request or query to me either onwiki, by email, or any other medium, for any reason. Keegan (talk) 10:03, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for Steinsplitter

Hello. I would like to apply for global renamer flag to assist the community.

I would like to help german and italian speaking users here and at local request pages. I noticed that there is a little amount global renames from dewiki and commons. I am a admin on commons (with +80000 admin actions) but not a bureaucrat anywhere. I have read and understood all relevant rename policies. I've also helped several users to apply their rename on SRUC.

Regards and thank you for your consideration. --Steinsplitter (talk) 06:40, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global abusefilter-helper for PhantomTech

I've been working on false positives at en wiki for a bit, I'm also working on a bot that can have some of the filters, particularly LTA related ones, offloaded onto it. Being able to see the private filters would help me deal with the related false positive reports, it would also allow me to have my bot start detecting any of the LTA cases that have private log-only filters setup. Being a global right, I wouldn't mind helping people with issues they were having on other projects if they asked. I should point out that I requested edit filter manager on en here. A lot of the concern raised there seemed to be about me editing filters, and most of the editors who participated in the discussion seemed to be fine with me having a read-only right. Thanks, --PhantomTech (talk) 01:46, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. No support; out of scope for global permissions. SPQRobin (talk) 13:18, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

add global-interface-editor for Jitrixis

I was an ex-sysop on wikidata and I've made some script on it like labelLister, autoEdit, etc... So I'm skilled in Mediawiki's Javascripts. Recently I've seen a bug on many project who support the rename title script for unsupported title. It rename the title seen on the page but not the title of the tab on the browser that is also a SEO mistake. Maybe in the futur I can find some other bug and issue I can resolve on common script, so it will be usefull for me to get this right. Is that possible ? Thanks in advance, Cordialy, --Jitrixis (talk) 10:44, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Unfortunately, I can't understand your request. You saw a bug in a global script (wherever that is located)? Then you should edit that global script or make an editrequest on the talk page wherever that script is. Likewise if you "maybe" find other bugs in scripts, you should edit or request them to be edited accordingly at their locations. --MF-W 13:19, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    @MF-Warburg: This is not really a bug, it's just a missing feature in the code which make an little SEO problem (non correspondant of the title tag and the subject). The code is located on many wikis on Mediawiki:Common.js, but the problem is recurrent on different wikis like "en" and "fr" wikt, "en" and "fr" wikp, and maybe on others.
    Then I'm a developer so I solve problem by my self, and I'm not a global admin because I don't need those tools, but sometimes I see bugs on protected scripts or someones send me issue about scripts so those tools can help me to do this job instead of delegating the job to someone else. And of course i'm not a barbarian, if I change the way a scripts works I will request it before ;) Cordialy, --Jitrixis (talk) 00:01, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
