This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global sysops policy.
Stewards

Global rename for فيصل

Not ending before 5 February 2020 11:05 UTC

Hello, I'm an editor and sysop in ar.wiki (my home wiki), I was a global rename in May 2018, but I was inactive for almost 2 months then I decided to remove my global rename, and I will be back when I will be active, and now I'm active (as I graduated from the university). Anyway, we are on ar.wiki suffer from user names that violates our local username policy, in this time we have only 3 GR, and one of them is not active, and I think we need more GR to deal with the renaming accounts. so having the ability to perform these renames would enhance my ability to preform this work and help in it. I read Global rename policy, and Global renamers (I will focus essentially on requests on Arabic Wikipedia) so since I'm available on a daily basis, and there doesn't seem to be a reason that would prevent me from participating daily for the time being. Thank you.--Faisal talk 11:05, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for Levg

Not ending before 10 February 2020 11:15 UTC

Hi, I am admin, bureaucrat and oversight on ru-wikipedia. Had global renamer flag until 2016 when it was revoked due to prolonged period of inactivity. Since I have returned to normal level of activity and my colleagues feel that another renamer will be useful, I am requesting this flag again. I intend to use it only for rename requests submitted on ru–wikipedia. Thanks. --Levg (talk) 11:15, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for Justlettersandnumbers

Not ending before 16 February 2020 18:54 UTC

I've been an admin on en.wp for about eighteen months. I sometimes block an account for a username that's against our local policy; when the blocked user makes a reasonable request for a rename, I'd like to be able to perform it rather than wait for a colleague to do so. I have no experience of account renaming, and – if this approved – no intention of using the permission on any other Wikimedia project in the foreseeable future. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:54, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for asking, Kostas20142! Yes, I should have made clear that once I get the hang of things, I would indeed expect to deal with similar cases where other admins have blocked, and possibly also become active at WP:CHUS. However, my immediate reason for making this request is my wish to reduce the amount of extra work I create for my colleagues. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:08, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your response! I have been covered. --Kostas20142 (talk) 02:17, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for `oooCJ

I'm physically located in mainland China, where the authority blocked direct access to wikipedia.org.So I have to use proxy, often open proxy which Wikipedia prohibites, to read and edit Wikipedia pages. I belive it is not the purpose of such restrictions to prevent people in Internet censored districts from editing. Therefore I request a IP block exemption. Hope you will approve shortly, thanks, --`oooCJ (talk) 12:28, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Alpha Werewolf

Hi, I come from Italy. I'm a language interpreter and translator and, if sometimes I edit voices on other Wikipedia, very often, I create pages on the Italian Wikipedia, connecting, then, the new articles with their foreign versions. I've just noticed that my capability of connecting the new Italian pages with the corresponding voices on the other Wikipedia has been blocked until 2021. The reason is the proxy I'm using, which is just a simple VPN that I use for privacy and security, that's all. Therefore, I'd like to request an IP global block exemption. Waiting and hoping for a quick response, thank you very much in advance --Alpha Werewolf (talk) 21:16, 3 February 2020 (CEST)

continue global interface admin billinghurst

I have had global edit interface rights for the past year, and have been using it (lightly) in numbers of places through the year, fixes and implementation of gadgets in occasional requests. I would see that I would continue to undertake a similar use of rights in 2020 as I have this year.  — billinghurst sDrewth 21:25, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
