Global rollback for Synoman Barris
- Global user: Synoman Barris (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 3 January 2022 21:13 UTC
Hello everyone, I would like to present myself to the community to volunteer for the role of a global Rollbacker. Firstly, I have been active in fighting cross wiki spam and vandalism in most wikis using the abuse log and SW viewer on almost a daily basis. I have a broad understanding on the use of rollback since am a Rollbacker in three projects. Secondly,I understand that this right will grant me autopatrol in all wikis and therefore I'll only revert clear cut vandalism and spam using it ( it would also be nice to not be stopped by the filters everytime I mark a userpage for spam) I ask the community to evaluate my contributions and trust me enough with this permission not to abuse it but to use it for the good of the projects. Cheers --MeganB... …till the end 21:13, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

feature instead.--Renvoy (talk) 22:07, 30 December 2021 (UTC)- OT & clarification to a clarification: It does give
autopatrol
right in each and every wiki; some wikis just rely on autoreview instead. Even though, the autopatrol right is present (and does its job in places that aren't affected by FR). --Martin Urbanec (talk) 22:31, 30 December 2021 (UTC) - And it may also be worth mentioning that on enwiki all the pages you create as a global rollbacker will be unpatrolled by DannyS712 bot III if you don't have autopatrol. -- Ferien (talk) 22:41, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- Ferien, do you mean the pages are marked as unreviewed or unpatrolled on English Wikipedia? I'm guessing likely the former, per what Martin Urbanec said, and also because the PageTriage extension (called Page Curation Tool on English Wikipedia) has that functionality? What I'm mainly concerned with is that the user is technically competent and will have consistent and sustained activity. Based on my interactions with Synoman on Public Test Wiki, I'm satisfied the user meets those criteria. Dmehus (talk) 23:31, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for Guxiangli Tongguan
- Global user: Guxiangli Tongguan (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hello everybody. I am a Chinese student living in Australia. I haven't been able to edit lately because of many blocked IP blocks. Therefore, I would like everyone to exempt me from IP. I need to always mask my IP address for reasons of my personal security and privacy. However, I am unable to make contributions to Wikimedia projects when I am logged in and accessing the Internet via an IP that happens to be blocked. I would greatly appreciate it if I were granted an exemption, so that I may continue to contribute to Wikimedia projects. I do not have any other account on Wikimedia projects.--Guxiangli Tongguan (talk) 03:58, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Guxiangli Tongguan
- Yes, Stang. Hi, sometimes I get blocked from editing when using VPN with the reason using an open proxy. I use a VPN when visiting the website that get blocked (i.e. reddit) by government when I need to get the news from there and update Wikipedia articles. It's annoying that I always have to turn off my VPN whenever I want to edit on Wikipedia. I often edit on (id|jv)(wiki|wiktionary), and less on Commons, Old Wikisource, and Wikidata for interlanguage linking. Therefore I need a global IP block exemption, and I promise I will use it carefully and will not abuse it. Thanks!--Guxiangli Tongguan (talk) 07:31, 1 January 2022 (UTC)Guxiangli Tongguan
- @Guxiangli Tongguan: You are currently residing in Australia so you shouldn't have any issue accessing Wikipedia without the VPN active. So long as you continue using your account and edit while logged in, your IP information is not public. Please disable your VPN/proxy in order to access Wikipedia. Hello administerators.I'm Li_Dicker from China. When I was searching a Chinese actress tonight,I found it annoying that someone write Taiwan as an independent county. From ancient China to this moment,Taiwan has been part of territory of China. At the same time,United Nations has admitted that Taiwan is part of China. But some reactionary try to prowork disord to separate my country and some Taiwan people can't recogoniese the fact so that they write Taiwan as Republic of China not People's Republic of China .Now,as a Chinese citizen,I have to correct this mistake. But because of having to use proxy software to access Wikipedia,I can't correct the website.I hope administrators can give me the right to correct these mistakes(https://zh.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%AE%8B%E8%8A%B8%E6%A8%BA#).Thanks for your cooperation.
Note: I want to correct this mistake globally not just correct it on zhwiki. This is a global political problem.I want everyone have a correct cognition about Taiwan. As a Chinese, I obligated to correct these mistakes globally. Thanks for administrators and merry chrismas everyone.

Global IP block exempt for Din-nani1
- Global user: Din-nani1 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hello All Administrators, This is Abdul-Rasheed Yussif, User:Din-nani1 from Ghana. I am a Co-Founder of Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. Through hard work we have been given a new language Wikipedia i.e Dagbani Wikipedia. With this, there are a lot of newcomers that still need skills to be able to contribute to Wikimedia projects. I am one of the trainers of such contributors and usually juggle among the various Wikimedia projects in order to help editors to be able gain the relevant knowledge and skills required to contribute to the various projects of Wikimedia, this usually lands me into my IP address being blocked. It is for this reason that I request for Global IP Block exemption.Din-nani1 (talk) 06:57, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hello @Din-nani1, thanks for the message! If you're using a VPN service, I recommend to disable it -- that should make you able to edit freely. If you're not using a VPN, I'd like to ask you to share the IP address you use, so we can investigate the block. If you don't want to do that publicly, you can email stewardswikimedia.org instead (just note the ticket number here [will come in an automated response], so we can follow-up quickly). Thanks! Global IP block exempt for Edo-biscuit

Hi, here is edo-biscuit from mainland China. I have been a user of Wikipedia for years and as many of you known, many users in mainland China have to use VPN while browsing and editing wikipedia, including me. I could use basic English and Japanese and I have already edited some pages in enwiki and jawiki. I want to continue my contribution in Wikimedia projects (not only zhwiki but also enwiki, jawiki, etc) easily so I would like to request a permison for global IP block exemption. Thanks for reading. : ) --Edo-biscuit (talk) 08:21, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
Global IP block exempt for Sky Harbor
- Global user: Sky Harbor (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hi, folks! I already have IP block exemption flags on a few wikis, including the English and Tagalog Wikipedias and Meta, but I figured I'd request for an IP block exemption globally. In the Philippines, open proxies are very common, and on wikis where I don't have the IP block exemption flag I end up being inadvertently blocked from editing; in fact, I just encountered this on the Spanish Wikipedia earlier today as I was editing an article on the upcoming Philippine presidential election. A global IP block exemption flag would make it so much easier for me to conduct my editing activities without having to worry about the blocks I will inevitably encounter while doing so on the Philippine Internet. --Sky Harbor (talk) 14:33, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi, I have had this right since Jan 2021 (discussion) and has done over 100,000 edits to fix deprecated javascript usages across all wikis. It enabled us to finally remove and close several really long standing tickets with next to none disruption like phab:T72470 (after seven years) and phab:T280944 (four years since upgrade to jq 3). I have reduced number of deprecation warnings from 20M per day to 1M per day (graph of 1:100 sampling). I'm planning to do more cleanups and then removals to make the site faster for everyone, including phab:T193314 and phab:T130879 and keeping the right would be useful for me. thanks, --Amir (talk) 01:51, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
