This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Renvoy

Hi! I would like to ask for global rollback right. I have been using SWViewer for few months, focusing mostly on Wikis in Slavic languages (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8). I already have rollback rights on Ukrainian and Polish wikis. Global rollback permission would help me massively in fight against vandalism. Thanks.--Renvoy (talk) 20:02, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not ending before 23 August 2021 20:02 UTC
  • Oppose Oppose you've only got edits on about 70 wikis, with most of them just with one or two edits each, but I do see some reverts in vandalism. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 23:54, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose Your cross-wiki edit undo statistics could not convince me. (Only 94 undo via SWViewer) Contribute regularly for few months and then request again. Good luck MdsShakil (talk) 04:43, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose not just yet due to the small edit matrix. Try again in three-four months after making heavy use of the metawiki abuse log and SWViewer to fight spam and vandalism. You will be likely to get GR if you have a demonstrable track record of fighting vandalism and spam on small/medium wikis and good judgement. All the best! JavaHurricane 07:40, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • moral Support Support, please come back in a few months with a bit more experience --Jan Myšák (talk) 10:01, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose Not quite yet, not enough crosswiki experience.Jackattack1597 (talk) 11:12, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Support I've no concerns. I did a spotcheck of their vandalism-related reverts across multiple wikis and they were all fine. The editor has engaged in this activity for a few months. This is not a very high risk permission. Page deletion requests were also actioned. From my POV, this is an editor who understands what vandalism is, and wants to help, so I'm not really concerned. ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 16:09, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    ProcrastinatingReader, global rollback also includes autopatrol on all wikis. And, keep in mind that on enwiki "it is unlikely that editors with under 200 mainspace edits will have their request granted". Renvoy here has 94 undos in SWViewer, in multiple wikis. They may be all ok, but they just don't have enough experience for global rollback right now. --Ferien (talk) 19:30, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    My criteria to evaluate user rights requests is mostly whether I think a person is trustworthy and will be able to competently use the tools requested (or at least be self-aware enough to know which parts they can do competently or not). My personal opinion here is that the editor is trustworthy and competent. I haven’t seen anything to dissuade me of that opinion. As far as enwiki goes, its guidelines don’t apply here, there are frequently exemptions to that guideline, and enwiki has much greater volume of easy rollbacks compared to small wikis. ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 19:41, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak oppose I think you need a little more cross-wiki experience before getting the global rollback right, but thank you for your work so far! --Ferien (talk) 19:30, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Weak support. Hasan (talk) 10:41, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    @Ulubatli Hasan Comment Steward note Hello, please note that global rollbacker discussions (just as other kind of SRGP requests) are not votes. Arguments need to be presented in favor (or against) the candidate. See the header of this section for more details. Best, Martin Urbanec (talk) 10:59, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Oppose You are contributing to fight the cross-wiki vandalism since last month especially. If possible, it would be good to reapply after 2-3 months for get more experience. --Uncitoyentalk 15:52, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done No chance of passing within an hour. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 18:59, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Mtarch11

Not ending before 1 September 2021 05:30 UTC

Hello everyone, I'm Mtarch11, I'm global rollbacker from a few months and I am active in the fight against vandalism and cross-wiki spam. I am requesting global sysop permissions to help deal more effectively with vandalism and spam on small Wikis. If I do not have the flag, I will continue my work as always. Thanks, --Mtarch11 (talk) 05:30, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for Rachmat04

Not ending before 6 September 2021 14:57 UTC

Dear everyone. I would like to request global rename permission to assist rename request, specifically focus on the request from idwiki, my home wiki, where recently I have been dealing with several usernames that do not comply with the local policy and directing them to change their name. I have read and understood the policy. Also, I am a bureaucrat on that wiki. I am an id-N and perhaps I am able to help other renamers. Thank you, ··· 🌸 Rachmat04 · 14:57, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for global IP block exemption

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewards(_AT_)wikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting global IP block exemption, make sure that:

  1. You have a global account ;
  2. You are logged in on this wiki, and the account is part of your global account;
To request global IP block exemption
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain why you need the access and why you're suitable. If needed, link to relevant discussions.
=== Global IP block exempt for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!--don't change this line-->
 |domain    = global<!--don't change this line-->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}}
}}
<Add an explanation here>, thanks, --~~~~

The request will be approved if there is demonstrated need for the permission, such as bypassing a global block from someone who is not the intended target.

Global IP block exempt for Zbobai

Requesting again. It was rejected by Amanda; see Steward requests/Global permissions/2021-07#Global IP block exempt for Zbobai. This is a user who wants to contribute to Incubator, Commons, English Wikipedia, and Wikidata, hence he needs a global exemption and not something in a particular wiki. He cannot do it because his IP range is blocked, but he's not the vandal. He cannot make the request himself because he's blocked. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 08:04, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It will proceed concurrently with the request below. --Sotiale (talk) 09:58, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Kambai Akau

Similar to the request about User:Zbobai above—they both mostly want to contribute new content in the Tyap language in the Incubator, and also content about their culture to Commons, English Wikipedia, and Wikidata, hence they need a global exemption and not something in a particular wiki. He cannot do it because his IP range is blocked, but he's not the vandal. He cannot make the request himself because he's blocked. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 08:04, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Amire80: Hello. May I know why their IP range is blocked? If it is an open proxy or VPN, please explain why they should use it as well(eg. certain countries restrict access to Wikipedia). --Sotiale (talk) 09:58, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Amire80, you probably didn't have time to reply because of Wikimania, could you do it now? --Base (talk) 11:38, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2FA Tester for Hi-Spec

Hello, I'd like to enable 2FA on my account. No pressing reason, I just like to do it as a matter of course. --Hi-Spec (talk) 12:12, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Hi-Spec Hello, can you please confirm you are familiar with H:2FA and that you're comfortable with the risks described at that page (mainly that there's a possibility of completely losing access to your account should you lose the recovery codes)? Thanks, Martin Urbanec (talk) 13:14, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
