This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Successful global rollback requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion, successful global renamer requests require no fewer than 3 days (if the user is a bureaucrat) or 2 weeks (if the user is not a bureaucrat or if valid concerns are raised), while successful global sysop discussions require no fewer than 2 weeks.

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for Atcovi

Hey all! I'm Atcovi, and today I'd like to request for the right of global rollback. For anyone who knows about my checkered past, I feel like I have grown out of it. I feel like I'm out of my troubled past here on Wikimedia, and I have realized my mistakes. I know how to use rollback, since I've used it at Wikibooks, where I'm a sysop and editor at. I'm also a rollbacker on Simple Wiktionary. I also think I've showed a heavy use of rollback as well, being currently active in SWMT work. It's also pretty annoying having to clash with someone, or when someone else has beat me to a revert (we all know that feeling). I also think that this right isn't necessarily a big deal, just one press of a button. I know what vandalism/spam/unconstructive edits are, and can easily identify them. Thank you. --Atcovi (talk) 22:54, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for NahidSultan

The following request is closed. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
Not ending before 29 March 2015 19:15 UTC

Hello Mates,
I'm Nahid and I'd like to apply for GS bit. I usually do clean up works on small wikis and active SWMT member since September 2014. Speaking of clean-up, I usually search for duplicate commons file/unused non-free files, useless redirect, empty pages, gibberish, etc. and mark them for deletion. With the GS tool I'd like to do the things myself i'm currently doing and will look into other stuffs as well. You can find me on irc under the nick NahidSultan in multiple Wikimedia channels including #cvn-sw. I am currently a sysop on bnwiki, bnwikibooks (temporary), commons and meta. I fairly active on every projects i'm holding advance rights and I do know how the sysop bit works. I surely concern about the scope of GS and also concern where I can use the tool and where it shouldn't be used. Now, some of my fellow colleagues might be concerned that I should rather get the GR butten before taking this one. Well, my answer is that I simply don't need GR right now. I occasionally revert vandalism and global twinkle is doing just fine. Please feel free to ask if you've something in mind, I'd happy to answer. Thanks for your time. Cheers, ~ Nahid Talk 19:15, 15 March 2015 (UTC) [reply]

If the pages/files are needed locally it is totally fine with me. But the actual fact is that most of the broken pages or files are too much old and no one cares whether they are broken or unused and non-free. Also, most of them are not linked. So at this point i believe it's futile to keep them. Some people may prefer the idea of having files locally but given the size and cost implications, I can see no valid reason (without some exception) for hosting files locally when they are available on commons as a duplicate. I don't know either why they want it to keep while no article is linked with this page. Images like this even if they are uploaded by the website owner might be promotional. Again, if the local community agreed on such cases, I'm okay with that. Though I check the history when tagging but i'll be more careful next time. BTW, This was a clear mistake of mine, I should've seen that's a bot usertalk page ~ Nahid Talk 18:19, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for Jimmy Xu

Hi, I have been referred here by our bureaucrat Kegns to give a hand with requests posted locally on zhwiki, as well as helping out Chinese speaking users here. I'm not a b'crat anywhere but I believe I'm sufficiently familiar with the relevant policies. Thanks for your consideration. Jimmy Xu (talk) 07:30, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for Jianhui67

Hello. I would like to apply for global renamer rights because I would want to further assist the community. I would like to help Chinese speaking users here as there is a little amount of Chinese global renamers. I am not a bureaucrat anywhere, but I have read and understood all the various relevant rename policies. Thank you for your consideration. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 07:18, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global rename for Mys_721tx

Hello all. I have been brought here by Kegns to aid the zh local renaming process, and, like my colleagues above, help out on meta. I'd like to apply for global renamer. I am not a bureaucrat on any projects. However, I am great at following manuals and have read those related policies. Global rename for Jmvkrecords

Hi all wikimedians. After a message from Alexmar983, and consider it, I ask the community to evaluate if I can be a global renamer. This is my second request. My motivation is the same I exposed on the last request. Even if I am a bureaucrat since May 2014, due tu my limited experience renaming users (5 in a couple of months), I consider appropriate to give 2 weeks more for discussion, Jmvkrecords (Intra Talk) 20:42, 24 March 2015 (UTC).[reply]

Global abusefilter-helper for Xaosflux

Requested so as to access abuse filter data across all projects, working on efficiency tuning primarily on enwiki and preparing to work on a reviewing a bot request to offload abuse filter cycles to post-edit reviews. I have been +sysop on enwiki for 9 years, and was a prior meta +sysop (inactivity on meta). I have no desire to edit filters on other projects directly, thus asking for this read-only group only. Thanks, --xaosflux Talk 01:39, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Support, looks like a valid reason to request. Unfortunately, per precedent with past requests, you can't be granted this right before 5 days of discussion. Ajraddatz (talk) 20:01, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
What will you do (if I understand correctly your intentions) if you find an inefficient private filter? --Vituzzu (talk) 20:10, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW there is only one thing he is technically able to do - inform a local admin. He doesn't have editing permissions with this right. Ajraddatz (talk) 20:45, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I know, my question actually deals with how will he contact sysops, by which mean ;) I already saw he's a long-standing sysop so I'm pretty sure he'll use the proper secret means of communication. --Vituzzu (talk) 21:04, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Aah, apologies, I misunderstood :) Ajraddatz (talk) 22:20, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I will wave the proper magic chicken, specifically would want this to be handled by local sysops. xaosflux Talk 00:07, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Someone reviewing the global filters from enWP is useful, as things like bajotz and some of our specific xwiki problem users would be useful to update local filters without stewards having to worry about it.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:58, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global abusefilter-helper for Glaisher

The following request is closed. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

I've also occasionally had situations where having this would've been helpful. I asked stewards and local sysops on IRC whenever I needed to view a private filter but viewing it myself is probably more efficient. I've used it to improve filters on simplewiki and have helped in fixing local filters on other wikis. Regards, Glaisher (talk) 16:09, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Conditional support in case you know how to read and access filters without admin help. Vogone (talk) 16:40, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that I do. [4] [5] and on various GS wikis. Glaisher (talk) 16:44, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That proves you are able to access and edit filters. What about evidence you are able to read but not edit them? Vogone (talk) 16:46, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it'd be hard to edit a filter which was written by someone else without reading and understanding it. Glaisher (talk) 16:49, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm much impressed by your answers. You're clearly suitable for these advanced permissions and have my clear support. Vogone (talk) 16:51, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The instructions above recommend 'a short period of consideration' for requests like this one... Two ou three days are more than enough when there is a clear consensus for granting the permission, IMHO. Ruy Pugliesi 20:38, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
