Global rollback for DutchTina
- Global user: DutchTina (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 26 June 2020 16:26 UTC
I can't use SWViewer anymore since I don't have rollback anymore because I quit being a sysop at my former homewiki. I was planning to do some xwiki patrolling again today (and in the future) but this error showed up. I would love to spent my vacation being useful against xwiki vandalism again. :) DutchTina (talk) 16:26, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

- Not going to vote but DutchTina resigned as an admin at NL-wiki shortly before being desysopped during a desysop procedure. Not mentioning this while mentioning your adminship at NL-wiki is a bit misleading imho. Natuur12 (talk) 16:36, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, so I quit being a sysop. Just mentioning this here without a background story looks like stirring up imho. I always functioned well in the tasks I had, there were other things that went wrong. Nothing to worry about in this position. ‐‐DutchTina (talk) 16:42, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- But that’s not up to you to decide. You should present the facts, after which people can make their own decision. Like Natuur12 I decided not to vote as well, but maybe that was a mistake from me. I’m more and more convinced you’ll not learn from your mistakes. Trijnsteltalk 23:19, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- After having read their short presentation above and these edits on their talk page, I agree. Their twisted summary of what went on earlier this month on nl:wiki clearly shows they still just don't get it. DutchTina's short temper and their lack of trustworthiness are liabilities in any WMF function. Wutsje (talk) 04:26, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

- I don't see why the request is 'misleading'. I've lost my rollback rights because I asked to remove my sysop rights. I've been transparant about the desysop and wrote it was hurting me. So 1. I quit being a sysop and 2. I lost my rollback rights with that removal. Now my rollback at nlwiki has been restored but I can still use global rollback in SWViewer in order to fight against vandalism. Would you please explain to me what part of that is misleading at this point? ‐‐DutchTina (talk) 11:15, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Not mentioning that the desysop procedure would have been successful, publishing emails meant for admins only and abusing your tools shortly after you announced your resignation. I'm not bringing this up because I want to bash you but because I do care about your well being. The odds are that you having any advanced permissions will bring you into a position that hurts you, resulting in more unwanted behavior. Like the behavior at 12 March. Something hurts you, resulting in you abusing your position. You know I have considered you a friend all this time, but friends speak up when one of their friends is doing something stupid, like getting a new advanced permission when there is evidence that they are not ready and misleading the community. Natuur12 (talk) 17:47, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- That's very kind, I did not know you considered me as a friend. I've never had any friends (I'm serious). Too bad I've lost you as a then. ‐‐DutchTina (talk) 18:32, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

Hello everyone I'm Samuele2002 I'm global rollbacker since 2017 and I'm very active in the fight against vandalism and cross-wiki spam. Thanks. --Samuele2002 (Talk!) 21:07, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

After he was inactive from July 2018, he returned from April 2020, and has since started to take on several other tasks. Sysop on itwikiversity was 30 April, test-sysop on incubatorwiki was 19 May, sysop on Wikimaniawiki was 24 May. I don't oppose because I know his recent devotion, but personally I think it's a bit early. --Sotiale (talk) 01:49, 17 June 2020 (UTC)

Global rename for Nadzik

- User: Nadzik (talk • edits • logs • UserRights • activity • CentralAuth • email • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 8 July 2020 11:51 UTC
Hi! I would like to request global renamer permissions. I am an active editor on pl.wikipedia and Wikidata. Recently I've started editing af.wikipedia and joined Small Wiki Monitoring Team. I've read and learned the Global rename policy, I've also read the past requests (both accepted and rejected), in order to familiarize myself with the type of job I would be responsible for. For the moment there is only one polish speaking Global renamer and due to her duties, she has not been active in the last few months. Due to a large number of GLAM accounts on pl.wiki I would also be able to help them locally, as they are usually not experienced users and the thought of META is usually overwhelming for them. I could handle the rename requests as the summer just started and I've got some more free time. I will resign these permissions when they are no longer needed or when I won't be able to use them actively. I hope that my intentions are clear, I would be happy to answer any questions if necessary. Cheers! Nadzik (talk) 11:51, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

Global abuse filter helper for ZI Jony
- Global user: ZI Jony (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
I'm active on several Wikimedia projects. I'd like to request GAFH to view private filters and private log entries. This will allow me to view details of private abuselog, and will assist me in tracking vandals/spam and reporting them. Thanks! -- Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 16:59, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Eh...your reason for requesting the userright would appear to be circular. In what manner will the ability to access private abuse filters assist your anti-spam capabilities, and why is whatever increase in information you would obtain worth surrendering to you the unadulaterated knowledge of every targeted vandalism/spam filter on all public projects? Best, Vermont (talk) 17:18, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Vermont, thanks for asking. When I'm dealing abuse and spam I use Special:AbuseLog and report to wiki sysops and/or SRG. There are some private abuse filters on the some wikis and some are global. Sometimes abuse filter didn't stop the edit, that I can see the diff amd report them. Abuse filters with detailed log entry can make sure that I'm reporting for action the account is correct. Thanks! Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 19:33, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Your message neglects to address any substance of my concerns and your penultimate sentence is nearly completely unintelligibe. From what you have written, the most I can gather is you seemingly hold the belief that this userright will help you to pursue antivandalism more efficiently; I contest this notion, as the only result will be you being able to view private filters, a change with no effect on the typical antivandalism workflow regardless of project or style. Such filters do not hide edits, and rather hide what triggers them, usually for amply good reason. As such, I Oppose granting you this userright. Vermont (talk) 03:22, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose Yet another feather for the hat. I see no demonstrated need for this nor that the user has any trusted rights on any project. filters are rather sensitive and they often contain an amount of PII and I would oppose anyone receiving this right without having adequate (demonstrated) trust from the community. Praxidicae (talk) 18:10, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Praxidicae, you know that GAFH doesn't have any right to modify filters, it just gives right to view private filters and private log entries. What do you mean by "adequate trust from the community"? Thanks! Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 19:33, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. Praxidicae has a great point here: some filters contain some amounts of PII, and, as such, users with this right need to be very trusted by the community, which, unfortunately, is not your case. Also, per Vermont, being able to view the filters will change nothing in your antivandalism efforts. —Thanks for the fish! talk•contribs 03:57, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
