This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback, global sysop, global rename, …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.
This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).
Please note that Global rollbackers discussions are not votes. Comments must present specific points in favor of or against a user's approval.
Instructions for making a request
Before requesting, make sure that:
You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag
To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
|status = <!-- don't change this line -->
|domain = global <!-- don't change this line -->
|user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''
The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions, no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than two weeks (no exceptions are allowed no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential. Please note: Since 2019 all global sysops are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
Hello everyone. I have been contributing to different Wikimedia projects for 10 years. For the last year, my free time has increased due to Covid-19, so I generally started to contribute more to wiki projects. Since 2014, I have had admin experiences on different wiki projects (Turkish Wikinews, Turkish Wikisource, Wikimedia Turkey, Turkish Wiktionary). I have been an administrator on Turkish Wikipedia for 5 years and have been a checkuser for the last year there. I'm a global renamer for the last 6 months. Before I became a global renamer, I did cross-wiki activity on 290 wikis as far as I was calculated. Although this number isn't more than 350 wikis at the moment, I think it is close to this number. Maybe these numbers may be small for someones, because these are subjective. But for the last 6 months, I have been trying to make requests on the SRG and global sysop requests. Generally I tried to keep my cross-wiki activity balanced. I have been serving as a Meta-admin for 2 weeks. Also I am 6th non-global sysop user have the most edits for the last 10 months, since Global sysops/Requests was opened. See: [1] My cross-wiki activity has decreased a little over the last month because my real life, but it won't cause a huge inactivity. Last year and this year, some global sysops were also removed per inactivity policy as usual. I think this year I will be more helpful for other global sysops and small wikis with the effect of the pandemic. 2FA is open already. Thanks for your comments and questions. --Uncitoyentalk20:33, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support Of course, functionary on homewiki (CU) as well as multiple sysop positions, active in xwiki patrolling and competent in all aspect of admin actions, thanks for volunteering. Just a sidenote: I am higher in the GS/R reporting list. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 20:38, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have been an administrator on the English language Wikipedia for nearly 14 years and an active contributor to several other Wikimedia projects. On en-wp I frequently patrol the Usernames for Admin Attention (UAA) board. On that project we have many users who subsequently request an unblock and rename, following action taken at UAA. I would like to be a global renamer so that I can assist with that backlog of unblock requests, renaming users and granting unblocks where appropriate, as an extension to the work I do at UAA. Waggers (talk) 13:37, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support Seems trusted, enwp sysop, per my usual standards that GR should be given to large / medium wiki sysops upon request (I don't mind bundle it with their toolkit) who is in good standing (prima facie I don't see any issues, willing to be corrected) and is active (seen their contribs, relatively okay in recent activity). GR isn't a big deal anyway for such cases. Since they are making username blocks, this is welcomed as it reduces work for other renamers, thank you for volunteering. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:47, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Strong support Waggers is an admin on English Wikipedia for 14 years. I think Waggers is very successful. The blocks that he/she gives for inappropriate usernames and his/her contributions on UAA are also clear. I am sure he/she will be a good job, especially with requests for the English Wikipedia. Good luck. --Uncitoyentalk15:21, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Leaderboard, good question. Arguably not; at the time of writing there are 93 requests for unblock on en-wp, 13 of which include a request to change the username on unblocking. Of those, all bar one have had some kind of response and that one was only requested earlier today, so actually we're doing quite well at responding to those requests. However there's a difference between responding to a request to check that a user understands why they were blocked and why a change in username is necessary, and being able to action that once they have demonstrated that understanding, and I'd like to be able to help out with the latter - but it's not a disaster if I can't. Waggers (talk) 23:09, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to ask, what is the user huge xwiki contributions, I see only contributions to commons, enwp, some en projects, and wikidata. Anyway, unless if the candidate wants to work on global queue, xwiki experience doesn't matter for GRN IMO. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 09:55, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think that as a new user, they might not understand what we meant by xwiki, xwiki we mean that cross-wiki, i.e. contributions across multiple wikis of multiple language and multiple types of project (like wikipedias, wikitionaries etc), hope this clarifies. :) Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:04, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewardswikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.
Please note: Global IP block exemption does NOT make one immune to locally-created blocks of any sort, only global blocks.
If you want to edit the Chinese Wikipedia, usually global IP block exemptions will not help you. Please see this instruction to request a local IP block exemption.

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a short period of consideration. A steward will review the request.
Hello, I'm CU, 'crat, admin and oversight in Persian Wikipedia (and have been admin for 12 years now), also have been global renamer since its inception (in 2015 IIRC). I'm also helping Wikimedia in technical spaces in my volunteer capacity (trying to keep track of them in here) and would like to have the right to help clean up deprecated js/css or fix performance and security issues in small wikis. For example, currently phab:T72470 but stuff like that comes up a lot. Hope that'd be okay for you. Amir (talk) 21:31, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support bit of a pile on, small wikis can use the help for sure. Did this start as a GS request - because wouldn't that have more fit the small wiki use case declared though? — xaosfluxTalk03:45, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I guess yes, based on history. However, GIE seems to be more suitable for this use case as it's editing the interface IMO, GS is more of uncontroversial counter-vandalism and spam which this isn't. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 09:53, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Stryn, he gave no valid reason except that I didn't respond to emails that were sent to the wrong email address, and that he expects a higher level of activity, which does not align with OTRS policy. The primary reason for deactivating an account is to prevent hijacking. My account was never in danger of being hijacked. Please revert your removal of my permissions. Atsme📞📧11:25, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, stewards will only add / remove global OTRS members upon OTRS admin request. Stewards can't do much here either, OTRS need to be resolved by OTRS team internal processes. I hope you understand. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:27, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the information. It seems odd that they can remove an agent's permission without any discussion. That doesn't seem very fair when all they have to do is simply ask for the removal, and seconds later an agent no longer has OTRS rights - no notification, nothing. They never updated my email address. Atsme📞📧13:18, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
