|reason = The user name "同舟人誓相隨" in English Wikipedia and Chinese Wikipedia were registered locally in 2011 and earlier by different people/entities but both are blocked indefinitely due to vandalism. The English one in particular was registered by someone with the intention to impersonate me, user:Sameboat, because both names are similar when written in Chinese. Since then I registered "同舟人誓相隨" on Commons, another sister project I actively participate, as protective puppet account. In March 2015, I received notification on Commons that I need to change "同舟人誓相隨" to a different name to avoid user name conflict. My request here is to have both local "同舟人誓相隨" accounts on English and Chinese WPs deleted and allow me to register a global protective account with the user name of "同舟人誓相隨". Thank you.

:Not done you already made a request for renaming earlier. We can't merge those accounts as the merge tool is not yet available. And I don't see sense to usurp Nonexyst so that we can move השואה to that name since they both have so many edits on Commons and Wikidata. You can continue using your both accounts and when merging is possible we will merge them. --Stryn (talk) 16:09, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

toma@huwp
not done
Hello dear stew's. :) I've been kindly asked to play a postman since the user (who's my friend) isn't experienced in wikipolitics, and my efforts to help him curiously were pretty unsuccessful. This is rather an information request about what to do.

Toma@huwp is an account from 2003 but he hasn't been very active since. He got a notice that his account name will be usurped and were "offered" to have anything else as a name, which is obviously not something he'd like to do. When he asked me about it I tried to see how the global account is standing and what I see is that Toma@trwp holds it. I failed, however, to figure out what was the basis that he got the account (the pages about global auth are pretty silent about the picking mthods and who's winning and why), or if he (at trwiki, along everyone else) would lose it either. I am not sure as well how to proceed: he oviously would like to keep his account name, which is his preudonym since forever. Apart from being older he seem to have the most edits throughout the projects (as of now).

Any useful advices? :) TIA. --grin ✎ 15:43, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

:Hi, the user on trwp got the global account because (s)he had more edits at the time of clashing resolution. More can be read at Single User Login finalisation announcement/Schema announcement. Unfortunately he should choose another nick or otherwise he will be renamed to toma~huwiki. There are also more accounts who has Toma as their username and will be renamed. Unfortunately everyone can't get the same name :/ --Stryn (talk) 16:59, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Instructions

SUL finalization

If you are requesting a merge of a global account with one or more unconnected local accounts as part of finalizing your single unified login (SUL) username, please specify which wikis and accounts you want to merge into your global account. These accounts were typically named "account name~wikiname". Please note that we can only merge a local account into a global account when the global account has no edits on the same wiki as the local account.

How to add an entry here

To add an entry, please copy and paste the text below into the appropriate section.

Oldname
Example

For global rename requests:

Example
Making a request for your own account

For changing your username on one wiki:

Please include the following information in your request:

 • the old username,
 • the new username,
 • please sign ~~~~ request with your account for a simple move (first section), or sign this request with both the originating and the target accounts if you are requesting a merge (second section).

If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information. This helps ensure that you are requesting a rename for your own account. Please check before posting your request that the username you want is available. You can test that by going to the (new) user page and looking into the sidebar. If there is a link to user contributions, the account already exists, or check via Special:CentralAuth.

Private requests

Account renames are not private, once renamed many links from the old username to the new username will be permanently made. The reason submitted on the rename form (Special:GlobalRenameRequest) is private, and only visible by the renamers. Additional information that needs to be made in private may be sent using this direct wiki-email interface while logged-in.

Global requests

Two options exist for requesting renames

 1. Use the (new) request form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest; or
 2. Utilise the manual process outlined above, and submit it below in this section.

Please add new requests at the end of the section. Sections should be titled your username@global if you wish to be globally renamed.

Nodder@global

@Nodder: Your "Nodder" username is already your global account. Also, do you own Svetlan on the Bulgarian Wikipedia (it has the global account for Svetlan)? --Stryn (talk) 21:47, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, no. The account on Bulgarian Wikipedia is not mine. --Nodder (talk) 22:09, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Nodder: Ok, Please confirm that the account "Svetlan" on the English Wikipedia belongs to you (log in on enwiki and edit your [Svetlan] own talk/user page). --Stryn (talk) 17:45, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Stryn: Done! --Nodder (talk) 19:29, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Nodder: One more request, sorry: please login on your account on enwiki and go to Special:MergeAccount then we can perform the global rename. --Stryn (talk) 05:13, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Leee@global

@Accents: Leee is already a global account and has over 600 edits on the Hebrew Wikipedia so we can't usurp it if I understood your request correctly. --Stryn (talk) 09:03, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not done per my comment above. --Stryn (talk) 09:19, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Spike@plwiki

You have been allocated the global account by the formula determined by Wikimedia. Are you sure that you wish for this account to be moved?  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:02, 28 March 2015 (UTC)`[reply]
Hi, I am en:User:Spike. Just to give full information: The reason that pl:User:Spike/pl:User:Spike78 is requesting this name change is because I had sent him an e-mail where I had asked him for the name change so that I could take over the global account "Spike" and he had graciously accepted. User Spike (talk) 15:22, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requests with usurps and complex renames

Please add new requests at the end of the section. Sections should be titled your username@project name .

Local renames are no longer possible by local users as per gerrit:160158. Thus, this is to be done by stewards. Vogone (talk) 15:30, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi User:Chess. So you want your 123chess456 accounts on commons, simplewiki, simplewikt and wikidata to be renamed to "Chess"? --MF-W 15:50, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I've usurped on enwiki, so please change all of my accounts that you are able to to "Chess". I will have to make an usurp request on every individual wiki? Chess (talk) 20:03, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There is not yet "global usurpation policy", so I guess you will have to request usurpation locally for now and the bureaucrats will have to ask Stewards to fulfill those local requests. –xeno 20:36, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Per Xeno above, we can't start ignoring local usurpation guidelines, asking local bureaucrats for comment might indeed be the best solution, though we also have to keep in mind that this is atransitional period to SUL finalisation where all these accounts will be forcibly renamed. Done on es.wiki - as a local bureaucrat - and on enwikibooks and enwiktionary per previous precedents. Savhñ 20:53, 15 September 2014 (UTC) And some more (kawikibooks, trwikibooks, trwikiquote, mediawikiwiki, jawiki) based on previous precedents. Savhñ 21:37, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Two issues should be separated here: 1.) The renaming of the remaining 123chess456 accounts who have edits to the new name; 2.) The renaming ("usurpation") of the unattached Chess accounts.
In order to solve 1.), I have just done the following renames: (so please visit Special:MergeAccount)
Chess@commons->Chess (self-usurped)@commons
123chess456@commons->Chess@commons
123chess456@simple->Chess@simple
123chess456@simplewikt->Chess@simplewikt
Chess@wikidata->Chess (self-usurped)@wikidata
123chess456@wikidata->Chess@wikidata
The only remaining 123chess456'es with edits are on Meta and enwiki. That is obviously unsolvable at the moment, maybe you will want to request a merge when that function exists. --MF-W 21:04, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've usurped all 0-edit Chess accounts and merged the frwiki accounts. —DerHexer (Talk) 16:39, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
On hold until the merge function is available. Ajraddatz (talk) 22:47, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Planning on using User:123chess456 as an alt account, for example, vanilla interface testing, insecure wifi, public computer terminals, etc. What I would like, is to usurp the remaining users. Chess (talk) 00:41, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Chess, please clarify whether you want the edits from 123chess456 merged into your Chess account or not. For usurpation, please inform the users and hold a month. Savhñ 10:53, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Galadrien@global

On hold until the tool to merge SULs becomes available. Ajraddatz (talk) 17:55, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I propose to decline this and process it when SUL merge is enabled. (Looks like it is not going to happen soon.) — Revi 12:36, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pelikana@en.wikipedia (Usurp. request)

Uitgevoerd. Heb je een account op en.wiki die eventueel bij je globaal account toegevoegd moet worden? Savhñ 13:34, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, user:Pepelikana on en.wp could be merged please, ty Pelikana (talk) 13:44, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Pelikana, can you provide an edit with the Pepelikana@enwiki account, so we can confirm you own that account? Savhñ 13:52, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
here you go and ty. Can i do a request for the separated wp.de:user here too? Pelikana (talk) 13:56, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Xavax@global

Placing on hold pending the deployment of AccountMerge, since you have two global accounts and have contributed with both to commons and to other projects. I have updated the confirmation diff, since the one you provided was broken. Savhñ 10:44, 3 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

khaled@global

I have usurped all "Khaled" accounts without any live edits, so you should be able to edit all projects except de.wiki and fi.wiki with your "Khaled" account. I suggest you wait for SUL finalisation and the deployment of AccountMerge to merge these two. Alternatively, we could merge the accounts the old way (all individually) but that could lead to problems. Savhñ 14:13, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Peka@jawiki and other 3 projects

 On hold @Pekachu: before we can do anything we require for you to make this account a global account. Please follow the link in your "My Preferences" to achieve this, and let us kn when that is done. We also require those accounts that are yours under the username "Peka" each are edited on their user or user talk pages by you so that we know that they are your accounts. On the edits, simply quote m:Special:PermanentLink/11066304. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:48, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please refer my talk pages : jawb, jawt, jawn, jawp. Is this not enough? --Pekachu (talk) 09:26, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tarenor@global

I have usurped the account on en.wiki. However, since AccountMerge is not deployed yet, we can't proceed to merge. Placing this request on hold. (Confirmation diff: cs.wiki) Savhñ 14:01, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Laszlo@Global

Account merging is currently not possible. Ruslik (talk) 20:01, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Aharon@global

Since you have contributed with both accounts on en.wiki, we'll need to wait for AccountMerge. To allow us to merge your accounts once AccountMerge is deployed, please access en:Special:MergeAccount while logged into your Aharon account to create a global account. Otherwise, we will not be able to perform the merge. Savhñ 20:18, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've completed the form on en:Special:MergeAccount to create a global account. There appear to be a number of other accounts named 'Aharon' on other wikimedia sites. These are not mine. ÖPNV-Bob l´éponge@global

You have two "old usernames"? Ruslik (talk) 20:08, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, originally I was Bob l'éponge (can't spell it correctly with my phone), then I changed to ÖPNV-Bob l'éponge to emphasize that I'm interested in railway stuff (ÖPNV is German for public transport), but because I'm so stupid I didn't noticed when I logged in with the old name, leading to the 'reactivation' of that account. Later, I chose to rename me to U-Bahnfreund (metro friend), but again I sometimes forgot the rename, meaning ÖPNV-Bob l'éponge was also 'reactivated'. Lastly, in November, I think, I kinda didn't like that name anymore so I settled on Metrophil44. Fortunatly I already discovered my faults so I didn't reactivated that account too, so I just have to let the other two be merged with my real account. -- Metrophil44 (talk) 21:28, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Currently no tools exist to perform such a complex account merge. Ruslik (talk) 07:34, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Ruslik0: To simply it, it's ÖPNV-Bob l'éponge and Bob l'éponge → Metrophil44. That's not complex, is it? Or do you mean, that there's no merging tool at all (yet)-- Metrophil44 (talk) 18:23, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done locally on es.wikivoyage, since the user preferred to use his new SUL to contribute there and hadn't contributed with his new nick yet. Leaving on hold pending the merge of the rest (Ownership of both global accounts confirmed). Savhñ 16:59, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Banjo@global (Usurp. request)

Done for all 0-edit accounts,  On hold for commons, cswiki, nlwiki and dawiki until the 7th April, where the users have been informed that they would be usurped in a month. The accounts on nowiki and itwiki have >100 edits, and though they have been informed of approaching finalisation and given the possibility to request a rename, they should not be usurped IMO (or else, they should be informed they will be usurped with a deadline). Savhñ 10:33, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

QuinnHK@meta.wikimedia.org

@QuinnHK: It has become a global SUL, so the only means that we have to address this is by a merge. If you wish for us to merge this then please let us know and we will move it to the section below.  — billinghurst sDrewth 05:20, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: Yes, that would be ideal, if it could be FinnHK globally. QuinnHK (talk) 17:38, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Awaiting for the merge tool. QuinnHK on Meta and Commons will be merged with FinnHK account when possible. --Stryn (talk) 08:33, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

UserB@commons

 On hold until 7 April We will give the user a couple of weeks to request a rename themself, before we force the account out of the way. It should be no issue to move the account of the way, and move the other into place. If not already done, it would be a good idea to sync the email addresses and passwords.  — billinghurst sDrewth 13:58, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
On second thoughts, there are a lot of edits at that UserB account, and it may just be easier and more efficient to await that tool, and fully merge. Thoughts?  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:00, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SElephant@zhwiki & other projects

Copyleft@en.wikipedia

Hi @Copyleft:, if you would like to usurp unattached en wiki account that can be done, so that you can use copyleft on en wiki too. Also if my understanding is correct, you want to merge Eurobas into copyleft account, it won't be possible for now because the user merge tool is still in development--Shanmugamp7 (talk) 11:21, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Shanmugamp7: we should be able to move out/usurp the enWP account, and move in the replacement. Just will need to get user to align passwords/passwords. We would need a confirmation of the Eurobas account to be moved and merged.  — billinghurst sDrewth 13:09, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Boudewijn@global

If you hold all of the other accounts, then I am inclined to process this request. However, would you consider selecting a different name to make it easier on everyone :)? Ajraddatz (talk) 06:29, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The other Bouwdewijn (commons, dewp) has been inactive for 8 years and was only active for 2 days. They also have less edits in total. I think we should give the global account to this Boudewijn (enwp, nlwp, enwn, enwk, nlwk). I suggest switching the global account choice (deleting the global account) and warning the other user of the coming SUL finalisation. Sincerely, Taketa (talk) 07:05, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Ajraddatz: I understand that each request adds a manual burden on a complex project, and have considered selecting another user name. I also considered the active time of the other account: as Takata points out: it was only active on two dates (less than sixty minutes, crossing from one to the next date at midnight). Thank you for your time on this. @Takata: thanks :-)
addition for clarity: I would still like to retain Boudewijn as user name :-)

Psychedelia@global

@Psychedelia: You should request the moving the account from ruWP to this account name. I doubt that we will look to resolve poet@global, it looks problematic. Kontos@global

@Sanyi4: You have the global account under this name. What we can look to do is to merge those pertinent accounts from Kontas. We will need for you to login to each of the relevant accounts under Kontas and identify which are to be merged. Some may be able to do soon, others will need to wait until the global unification process is further progressed.  — billinghurst sDrewth 13:00, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Billinghurst: Okay, I seem to have registered a global account under the name beastin and merged my beastin account at MediaWiki. Comment Comment I don't think that this account should take precedence. Pumping up an edit account after the criteria has been made available should not be the determinator. Two years of not editing is not particularly inactive, and the counts of the other accounts of this username that are of a similar condition. I suggest that you choose another name for your account.  — billinghurst sDrewth 04:34, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Had a warning been issued to me, via e-mail or talkpage, before the "too late, you're going to be renamed" message, I would've taken care of the issue then. Since I have always only dealt with Enwiki, I never saw any of the posts on meta (and, in fact, can't even log into meta) to know that the rename was imminent. The criteria being made available wasn't really all that available. When an account has been on the brink of usurpation in the past, a notice would be put on the target account's talkpage while there was still an opportunity to do something about it. With this, no notice was given until it was too late. I did what I could immediately after direct notice was given, and I am hoping that I am doing sufficient to warrant the "override on a case-by-case basis." 65.121.182.3 16:48, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Eluveitie@plwiki&commons

@Eluveitie: your account is already a global account. I guess "Eluveitie" on enwiki doesn't belong to you, right? Then it (enwiki account) will be renamed soon to another name, and after it you can use your account there also. Or do you just want to change your username anyway? --Stryn (talk) 17:04, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Stryn:, no Eluveitie on en:wiki is not my account, but it's clearly abandoned by someone 7 years ago. Is there any way around this? I don't mind name as long as I can switch between projects and have them somehow connected. What do you suggest? --Eluveitie (talk) 18:50, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest you to wait for the SUL finalization. After it's done you can use your current username in every projects. It's scheduled to happen in April. --Stryn (talk) 18:57, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Stryn: for quick response. Actually, may I ask to change my global name from 'Eluveitie' to 'Beata May' please? I kind of changed my mind since yesterday. Sorry to be a pain. --Eluveitie (talk) 06:18, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Noble Caraqueño: If you look at Special:CentralAuth/Juanmanuelarcia there are a number of unattached accounts, are they yours too? If they are then please login into that account and, via the preferences, and merge the accounts. I still see two accounts in Special:CentralAuth/Juanmanuelarcia. Are they not going to be merged with the account Noble Caraqueño?--Noble Caraqueño (talk) 17:23, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well they have no edits, but we can merge them with your main account after the merge tool is available. So marking this on hold. Also renaming them is possible, but deleting accounts is not possible. We could also unattach them and then someone else could get the global account. Stryn (talk) 17:32, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I”ll wait for the merge tool.--Noble Caraqueño (talk) 17:54, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Poke@meta

AS you have edited at meta you now have an account under your new name, and we either have to move the existing account out of the way to move in the old account; or we simply wait until the globalisation takes place and merge the old and the new. I suggest the latter. If yes, then we move it to the bottom of the page.  — billinghurst sDrewth 04:42, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
