Hello ,
Can you give me the permissions global-rollbacker I used to edit interface in Wikiquote ([1]), now I am autoreview, editor, reviewer, sysop in wikisource, autopatrolled and patroller in hewikipedia and autopatrolled in hewikivoyage and meta.
I want the permission to make it easier for me to fix vandalism

- Seems fixed by requestor....I will say they are trusted in a couple of wikis, like the case above, there isn't much global work, they didn't have much xwiki crosswiki reverts, hence, per the usual advice, take part in SWMT and then actively revert vandalism in many languages projects, thanks for volunteering but it's too soon in my view. - @Camouflaged Mirage, I occasionally want to get into recent changes in Wikiquote, Wiktionary, Wikinews and more, and I am not comfortable using SWMT מושך בשבט (talk) 13:27, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Global rollback for 蟲蟲飛

Hello! I am May. I am an administrator on the zhwiki and a member of the Small Wiki Monitoring Team. I always use SWViewer to revert vandalism. (my global contribution) I would like to contribute more so that I request global rollback permission which helps me revert vandalism effectly. Thank you!--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 13:58, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I've seen that you active sometimes on SWViewre. I've looked at your edits on 20-30 wikis randomly. On some of these wikis and other wikis, edits are renamer processes generally. You have undone edits on Chinese, Japanese and English projects generally. But I have seen on Wikidata that you are constantly undo each other's edits with users from Chinese wiki projects. (ex: Iokseng, Ellery, HenryXVII) [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] Normally, I (or us as global rollbackers) use undo/rollback against vandals and destructive edits on small wikis continuously. A few days after you delete a page, other users open the same pages. Or other admins undelete to these pages. These edits' copies on Wikidata seems edit wars according to edits of other users or admins, or deletion and page deletion, page creation logs on Chinese Wikipedia. But I'm not quite sure. Since I can't speak Chinese, I can't fully understand the situation. I would like you explain this situation. --Uncitoyentalk 14:56, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- I am admin when I delete a page on zhwiki the page in wikidata will change at the same time.--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 15:12, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- After few days some pages what you delete, other admins undelete for these pages. ex: [9] Is it a problem between you and other users or are you doing these in accordance with the rules? I guess you delete empty categories etc per logs, but after a few days other users open the same category. These situations that I don't understand. --Uncitoyentalk 15:24, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- In fact,I do not edit in wikidata, all the edit in wikidata is as a result of CSD,AFD or DRV in zhwiki. The users can recreate a page after csd if the page is not protected.--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 15:27, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- I know it, and when I first looked I saw these edits/logs like a edit war on Wikidata for me. If your actions are within the rules, there is no problem. --Uncitoyentalk 15:38, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- The admins on zhwiki delete a page must within the rules. And admins cannot involve in edit war, otherwise will be blocked.--May♡♡→♡℃※Talk 15:42, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello. I have received a ping at my talk page which mentions that there is a long rename backlog from Japanese users and there is a shortage of Japanese speakers among the global renamers. I am an administrator on the Japanese Wikipedia and have some editing experience on other wikis (enwiki, zhwiki, Wikidata, Commons), so I think I might be able to help and therefore requesting the permission. I have gone through the relevant rename policies and will mainly work on requests from Japanese users. ネイ (talk) 14:35, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

Abuse filter helpers for Yining Chen
- Global user: Yining Chen (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hello. I would like to ask for the permission "Abuse filter helpers" because then I can better understand the design and implementation detail of every abuse filters of Wikimedia projects and make better suggestions for their improvement. However, I don't really understand the requirements to apply for this permission, so if I don't qualify, I'm sorry to bother you. Thank you. --Yining Chen (Talk) 11:48, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Have you even read the introduction page for Abuse filter helpers ? Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:49, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Of course. --Yining Chen (Talk) 11:59, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, odd we didn't codify what are the minimum requirements there, but I think the requirements can be seen by the users who hold this permission, Special:GlobalUsers/abusefilter-helper. Ideally candidates should had a close xwiki profile as these candidates and have a valid use case. I just wonder after knowing the filters working how will you use those information for, for which wikis you are intending to make suggestions. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:03, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- I may check the abuse filters on a wiki one by one to find that if there are any bugs in them. --Yining Chen (Talk) 12:10, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Do you have experience in reporting bugs for abuse filters anywhere? Sorry for the many questions as I want to understand more of your use case. Thanks. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:11, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- I could show that I have the ability to understand and write the code of the abuse filter, but there is only a very unconvincing example to show that I fixed the bugs in the abuse filter. However, if I were get the permission, I would try to find and fix them. If you(and others) think I can't get the permission because of this, I will work harder on fixing the abuse filters. --Yining Chen (Talk) 12:31, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- I mean if there is a track record in reporting errors and then suggesting fixes, it will be easier, any record will be good here. Okay, what wikis will you try to find errors in? Just for clarification. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:34, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Like Meta-wiki, Wikimedia Commons, Chinese Wikipedia, English Wikipedia and Wikidata. --Yining Chen (Talk) 12:44, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Neutral Seems an odd-use case and with very little track record, just a little uncomfortable giving such wide access just to find problems with filters (and without track record of repairing faults). Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:58, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

- Yining Chen, I would also like to see examples of the suggestions you have made to some public or possibly private (if someone has shared the code with you) filters. If you are only requesting these permissions to begin working with filters then it is not a good idea unfortunately. The permissions are sensitive and are given only to users that have already proven their experience and trustworthiness. --Base (talk) 23:17, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Base:Hello. In fact I have already had the permission "abusefilter-view-private" in Chinese Wikipedia. Then I designed an an updated version of the abuse filter 156 in Chinese Wikipedia in August 2020 to implement a proposal and it worked well(I think). Unfortunately, the proposal was defeated, and the abuse filter was not be used. So I don't think this is a valid example. But I still would like to put the code here(even it cannot mean anything):

I would like to point out that there was a private abuse filter in Chinese Wikipedia that was used to prevent new users from removing CSD templates. But there is something wrong with it that it won't do anything when there is another specific template in the article, and the sysops didn't find it. Finally, a user found that the filter was not working properly and reported it to a sysop, then it was fixed. What I want to say is that I think it is very difficult to find out the bugs in the private abuse filters. --Yining Chen (Talk) 00:55, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Can you give me the permissions global-interface-editor? I used to edit interface in Wikiquote ([10]), now I am autoreview, editor, reviewer, sysop in wikisource, autopatrolled and patroller in hewikipedia and autopatrolled in hewikivoyage and meta.
I want the permission to import scripts from the Hebrew Wikipedia and to translate gadgets in commons
Thanks! מושך בשבט (talk) 12:57, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Where do you want to import scripts to? Also, wouldn't a local right on Commons be more appropriate for editing Commons? --MF-W 13:05, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- @MF-Warburg, I want to import scripts to wikiquote, wikibooks, wikisource and commons. For this not enough local permission in commons מושך בשבט (talk) 13:19, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- It seems you did not read GIE properly. It reads "Interface editors should avoid making routine changes to the interface on larger wikis without prior agreement. Projects with established communities and processes for maintaining scripts should be avoided.". That rules out your usecase for the right. Commons has a plenty of local interface administrators, and a well-estabilished community to manage themselves properly. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 15:32, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- @MF-Warburg, I want to import scripts to wikiquote, wikibooks, wikisource and commons. For this not enough local permission in commons מושך בשבט (talk) 13:19, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Strong oppose The requestor seem to not understand the purpose of the global group properly. They want to use the permission to "translate gadgets in commons", which is out of scope for the global group, as it is not to be used at projects with estabilished community and process for fixing and maintaining scripts. Commons is a well-estabilished project that has a plenty of local int. admins. Global int. editor serve a different purpose: usually well-estabilished developers who help communities to fix bugs (especially those that appeared because of a new MW version was released). Sincerely, --Martin Urbanec (talk) 15:32, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose per Martin Urbanec --DannyS712 (talk) 17:17, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose: it might be supportable if you were going to help translate some script gadgets across all the wikis out there, but you are targeting just a few. You can ask people with relevant permissions in the wikis mentioned to help you, or in case of the smaller projects even run for a temporary interface admin yourself. What I did in the past was creating the translations in my userspace and asked admins to move them accordingly — this way both I did not need the permissions, and I got my authorship properly attributed in translations' history. --Base (talk) 20:40, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
