This page hosts requests for global permissions. To make a request, read the relevant policy (global rollback , global sysop , global rename , …) and make a request below. Explain why membership is needed for that group, and detail prior experience or qualifications.

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.

Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Requests for global rollback permissions

Please be sure to follow the instructions below:
Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions, and not doing so would reflect poorly on your suitability.
Please also review the Global rollback policy.
Instructions for making a request

Before requesting, make sure that: You have sufficient activity to meet the requirements to be allocated the global rollback flag

To make a request
Copy the template below to the bottom of this section and explain of why you need the access and why you're suitable.
=== Global rollback for {{subst:u|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} ===
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!-- don't change this line -->
 |domain    = global <!-- don't change this line -->
 |user name = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}} <!-- don't change this line unless you're nominating another user -->
}}
::''Not ending before {{subst:#time:j F Y H:i|+5 days}} UTC''

The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a period of consideration of no less than 5 days (with rare exceptions , no matter how obvious the result may seem). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome. Stewards will determine whether consensus exists; when doing so it is likely that the weight given to the input of those involved in cross-wiki work will be most influential.

Global rollback for RacoonyRE

I've been involved with anti-vandalism on dewiki for a long time and would now like to expand it. I care deeply about keeping Wikipedia in a good light and would like to contribute by working across projects to prevent vandalism. In particular, I am also interested in small projects that are not the focus of everyone. I would like to be active "globally". For this I would need the appropriate rights, so that I can move not only in the large platforms. In my activity I pay very close attention to which reverts can be made and I use the rollback only if I am sure beyond doubt that the change is vandalism. I would be very happy if you would come to the decision to grant me this right. Best regards from Germany. RacoonyRE (talk) 23:16, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Comment You have few global contributions. I suggest you join the SWMT and gain a few months of experience in global patrolling. You currently don't have the rollbacker flag on any projects and you don't have enough experience. The global rollbacker flag allows you to speed up your work, but imho you will need it when you are more practical, regards --Superpes15 (talk) 05:55, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello, I appreciate your willingness to help out in anti-vandalism efforts. But you currently do not have a lot of edits outside dewiki. Most of your edits are concentrated in dewiki, with 200+ edits outside dewiki. We prefer candidates to gain crosswiki experience before applying for global rollback. Like what Superpes15 said, please join the SWMT and gain some experience in crosswiki patrolling. Jianhui67 talkcontribs 06:13, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I echo the other candidates, not yet, but no issues to a reapplication in the future. Leaderboard (talk) 09:30, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • No cross-wiki activity. It would better you come back next time with more experience. --Uncitoyentalk 10:09, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Moral Support Support, come back in a few months with more cross-wiki experience. --Jan Myšák (talk) 10:20, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your feedback. I hereby withdraw my request and will re-submit it if necessary when the conditions are met -- RacoonyRE (talk) 10:23, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Savh

Not ending before 5 March 2021 22:36 UTC

Hi, I'd like to re-apply to the Global Sysop group. I previously was one from July 2011 onwards, nearly ten years ago. I was later elected steward in 2014, and resigned from that position in 2017. The last couple of months I have been quite active again as a part of the SWMT (now using SWViewer), and I think having access to the Global Sysop toolset would be beneficial to intervene in certain situations without the need to call on others for deletions and blocks. As mentioned in my past requests, I'm bilingual Dutch & Spanish, and understand a few other Latin and Germanic languages. Aside from my global activities, I'm a sysop on the Spanish Wikipedia and on the Spanish Wikibooks. Savhñ 22:36, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for global rename permissions

Steward requests/Global permissions/Global renamers

Global rename for MemicznyJanusz

Hello there! I'd like to request global rename permissions to help our polish global renamers (because there's only one active polish renamer). I've read the global rename policy and familiarised myself with other pages connected to the topic (and past requests). I'm mostly active on the Polish Wikipedia, where I'm somewhat experienced in looking out for names violating our local policies. --MemicznyJanusz (talk) 10:30, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your request might be rejected if you don't follow the instructions. Please review Global IP block exemption. You may request Global IP block exemption via stewards(_AT_)wikimedia.org if you can not edit this page.

  1. You have a global account ;
  2. You are logged in on this wiki, and the account is part of your global account;

Global IP block exempt for 永愛所有小貓咪

<Add an explanation here>, thanks, --永愛所有小貓咪 (talk) 13:01, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@永愛所有小貓咪:你好,如果只需要编辑中文维基,去w:zh:WP:RFR申请即可,这里的权限是用于编辑维基数据等网站的。(just explaining if they just want to edit zhwiki they can apply for local IPBE.)--Super Wang hates PC You hate, too? 09:56, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Super Wang Any updates on the local IPBE situation. I didn't see any zhwp IPBE granted. As the requestor is just saying Wikipedia, we cannot assume it is only zh, they might be meaning en (which they also have some edits). Overall I don't see a GIPBE unreasonable per normal GFW situations. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:35, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Camouflaged Mirage: User has not reqested for local IPBE yet, maybe they don't know how to. I don't think it's unreasonable to grant them GIPBE either. As GIPBE doesn't make one immune of local IP block, I'm suggesting them applying for a local IPBE flag additionally. --Super Wang hates PC You hate, too? 11:43, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Given that this user edited today, they don't seem to be affected by local IP blocks, I won't suggest local IPBE. --Super Wang hates PC You hate, too? 11:45, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Super Wang I will guess the local IPBE can be applied if there is a local block issue as they seems to suggest it's just a global block they need to exempt from. Will appreciate your help to guide the user on local situation, or I can leave them a message if needed but since you are on it, let me defer to you first. Thanks. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:45, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Camouflaged Mirage: I noted that this user uses Traditional Chinese, which indicates they are from HK, Macau or Taiwan (but they didn't disclose). I guess they don't need to bypass GFW, just need to evade global IP block, so GIPBE is enough. And yes, I've been enthusiastic about helping people for local IPBE, so I will help them apply for local IPBE flag in case they are in need. --Super Wang hates PC You hate, too? 11:52, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. @Super Wang So to make it easier for stewards: in conclusion, this user doesn't need zhwp IPBE but GIPBE. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:07, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Ninjastrikers

Because of current situations in Myanmar (Burma), we have encountered problems in accessing Wikipedia. Global IP block exempt for GPSLeo and BotLeo

Want to run scrips from my Hetzner server but it is currently on IP block. If hole 5.9.0.0/16 or just 5.9.97.203 becomes removed from the block list I would not need this right for me and my bot. --GPSLeo (talk) 21:45, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

global-interface-editor renewal and abusefilter-maintainer for Billinghurst

I wish to continue to have access to global-interface-editor rights. Continuing the general work of past years. No rights have been rescinded xwiki that I hold, I think that I did add abusefilter-maintainer in past 12 months, though maybe that was prior period. -- — billinghurst sDrewth 23:12, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding abusefilter-maintainer to renewal request though it isn't due to April. May as well synch these rights to make things easier for all parties.  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:15, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: Do you edit abuse filters in projects in which you have no other rights? In your first request you wrote that you want to test filters. This also works with the Group "Abuse filter helpers". I think that would be better as that doesn't need to be renewed and therefore creates less bureaucracy. --𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 👤💬 08:57, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I both test and build edit filters for other wikis that are not are not covered by global sysops. I have previously assisted in global cleanups after AF extensions changes, though not been necessary this year.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:55, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • (after edit conflict) Question Question: Hello Billinghurst, can you explain this code?

page_namespage = 10
Nieuwsgierige Gebruiker (CA) 09:08, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You are going to ask this type of question every year for a renewal. We don't typically write filters for the template namespace, especially not globally, and not something that I would typically do at a local wiki.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:15, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And the code is invalid because "page_namespage" is typoed. Legoktm (talk) 09:10, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
