Grants:Project/Rapid/WBG/Annual Plan 2017-18/Report
Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
We have not yet met the targeted goal. Though we have done some work of high significance; yet much work is left, but they are in continuance and about to be done shortly. Hence, considering the gravity of the work and the vast zones to be covered. Our performance by the end of one year is satisfactory and participants are on the spur to carry on the remaining works enthusiastically.
As per our project goals:
|Target outcome||Achieved outcome||Explanation|
|Wikisource 10 Celebration||Done||The active participation of Bengali Wikisource community helped execute 7-month long proofreading contest and celebration event for Wikisource 10th Anniversary.|
|Wikipedia 17 Celebration||Not done||The community took no initiative to organize such event.|
|2 Workshops||3 Workshops||Experienced Wikimedians were invited to be the resource persons of these workshops.|
||West Bengal has a highly active Wikimedia Commons community, which led to the planning and execution of such events.|
|2 Internet Logistic Support||0||Internet Logistic Support was provided to Wikimedians by Project Tiger for those who needed, so WBG abandoned this project goal as it was not necessary.|
|6 Meetups||2 official meetups & ~ 10 unofficial meetups||Community lacked initiative to organize meetups and failed to find venues.|
|50 T-shirts||0||Other projects were prioritized due to limited resource.|
|Community build up in 5 places outside of West Bengal||Initiative was taken to build community for 1 place outside West Bengal through Wikisource workshop.||Lack of volunteer initiative and proper contacts were the main reason for not getting expected outcome.|
|GLAM - scan and processing of 10,000 pages||
||Post-processing is time consuming.|
Please report on your original project targets.
